Dude’s Truck Trailer & Automotive — Local services in Van Buren

When I initially started using Dude’s for my automotive needs, I found them to be helpful and friendly. This time around was completely different and is the reason for a 1 star review. I made arrangements to have work done on my car. I called last week and spoke to the owner and verified that they would order the parts and have them on hand. I was assured multiple times in 3 different conversations that they would DEFINITELY have my car fixed in a day. Dropped my car off on a Monday morning and was told I could pick it up the following morning. I went to pick it up and was informed the car hadn’t been touched and they hadn’t t even ordered the parts. No one could tell me why I hadn’t received a phone call about the delay. Then I was told I needed an additional service—the exact same service I had performed a month ago! That mechanic had apparently either not performed the service or had done it so poorly it needs to be redone. The man I was speaking to told me he would see if he could call around and find the part I needed, and then he disappeared and didn’t come back. The owner’s wife showed up and told me a bunch of bs excuses as to why my car wasn’t done. Then she told me she didn’t have the manpower to work on my car. So I wasted my time, got the run around, and still don’t have my car fixed. What she SHOULD have done is APOLOGIZE, offer to perform the agreed upon service at a later time, and made sure I left a happy customer. The way it was handled was unprofessional and was completely ridiculous. I’m really, truly disappointed bc one of the mechanics, Richard, was really nice and helpful every time I went in and I felt confident that my car was being taken care of. Love this place so much. Family run, they fixed our AC in our car. They helped us with our truck. They were honest with us when we asked what they would do if they had the same vehicle problems we had (should we pour money into a vehicle with a triton motor or just look for a different one) he suggested a different vehicle and we did find a different one and we took it straight to him because of his honesty. I am a repeat customer. My first visit was not scheduled. I showed up with a serious problem with my break caliper. My vehicle was not going anywhere until the problem was fixed. I spoke to Brandon and he told me he would get me in. Just two hours later I was back on the road. Brandon is an Army Veteran (Thank You for your service.) The business is family owned and family run. The Mechanic Crew are a healthy bunch of guys. I spoke to the ones working on my vehicle and I could tell they all are dependable and proficient.
