TL;DR: I asked why an employee wasn't wearing a mask, manager kicked me out of the store and threatened to call the police because I warned other customers about it.
Below is what I sent to Chipotle corporate.
The local Chipotle restaurant on 164th and Mill Plain is not following the required safety provisions for COVID-19. I'm pasting in the text of the report I filed with the corporate website last night. Needless to say, I will never darken their door again.
Upon entering the store, I noticed an employee on the back line with no mask on. He came through three times in the time I was waiting to be served, each time with no mask, carrying empty for containers. The third time I asked him why he wasn't wearing a mask, and he told me he was "social distancing." I told him it made me uncomfortable that he wasn't wearing a mask, and he shrugged his shoulders and said "whatever." I asked for a manager, and Deborah, the manager on duty, told me she would "talk to him." I found this unacceptable, and as a customer came in, I told them that there were employees not wearing masks. Deborah then told me to leave or she would call the police, after giving me the business card of the manager, Elizabeth Kirby. I left the store and began speaking with a person outside, informing them there were employees inside without masks. Deborah then came outside and made a show of checking with the other person to see if I was "harassing" them. He answered that I was not, and Deborah went back in the store. I turned to another couple who had just arrived and warned them that the store was not observing proper sanitary conditions under COVID. Deborah again came out and checked with the couple to see if I was "harassing" them, and they also said no. Deborah then told me the employee was "on a break," which is why he didn't have a mask on. She also told me she had called "the authorities" and they would be "arriving soon." I decided to leave rather than to allow the situation to escalate further. I have never been treated so rudely at a restaurant. The signs all over the store indicate that Chipotle takes the safety of its customers and employees seriously, but what I experienced at my neighborhood Chipotle has assured I will never patronize that...
Read moreWill never eat here again. This is the 2nd time I’ve gotten an upset stomach from this exact same location in a matter of 2 months after eating their food. I’ve eaten here many times since it’s opening (this location particularly being my favorite for quality food) and always choose the same ingredients, white rice, black beans, pico D., corn, red hot sauce, lettuce, guacamole. Something is up recently because after consumption I immediately got a stomach ache with diarrhea the first time. The second incident happened 4 days ago (10/25/17) right after eating, my stomach started hurting painfully sharp and dull pains with severe diarrhea constant for 2 days with severe diarrhea. Then just dull on and off pains going on day 3 and 4. Since chipotle, I haven’t had an appetite to eat, with some nausea, I still have diarrhea. And everything I eat goes straight through me, I’ve been dehydrated and feel like I can never get enough water but then pee so much when I do.
I’m very upset with this establishment and will be updating my par of the course when I see the doc today.
Please make sure your employees are following food safety procedures.... I would hate to see this happen to someone else.
(UPDATE:) went to the doctors and was told I had food poisoning... “foodborne gastroenteritis” which triggered me to have reactive artheritis.... WOW. I URGE EVERYONE NOT TO EAT HERE. Especially children or elderly it’s not worth the risk of death to samonella or Ecoli. I’ve since had my diagnosis reported in fear it may not be so easy on the next person who falls ill to this place. I’m going on day 6 and still have diarrhea, dehydrated, weak, and I have lost 8 pounds. Any food I eat goes straight through me and I get random...
Read moreThis is still the worst Chipotle I’ve ever been to! There was one person working the line, but he was great though! However, as always, they were out of things and this time you couldn’t even get a burrito! Um, ok…. No fajita veggies as usual too. So he could give me 3 pico de gallo of the plastic cups with my order, but not 1 of the larger paper cupS? That makes no sense at all from an efficiency and garbage view. He said he wasn’t allowed to give me the large cup. Huh…I’ve been to so many other locations where they have no problem giving me the large paper cup of pico. This location has suffered from poor management for a really long time, and it will never get better at this point so you should just stop going. The last time I went here, they didn’t have lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and many other things. There was only one person working the line, but there were 3 other people working the online orders in the back. It took 25 minutes to get a bowl that I didn’t even want. I wanted a burrito. Oh well. This just shows how the management here is out of touch. Yes, let’s improve our online ordering times, but at the cost of disgruntled people who are waiting in line at the store. That makes perfect sense. It’s like places that answer the phones instead of dealing with the people that are there in person. This was the last time I’ll ever give this horrible location a chance since they still suck even after many years of trying. Time to shut this place down or bring in management that actually knows what they’re doing. This location has so many unfavorable reviews, and they grow every single day. Stop going here so they’ll lose money and either fix the problem or...
