I used to go to the stardust all through the pandemic as it was price friendly. With what's good with comparisons of other fast food or a fast food restaurant like Denny's IHOP etc I hadn't been in their establishment but a couple of times in the last couple of years with that being said I have gone with family and friends and the food has either been a hit or a miss sometimes found morning to be much better then evening I've seen a lot of changes in their establishment with their servers. The season servers that have lasted are just a few I was utterly shocked a couple of days I went into their establishment with my son to get there hungry man breakfast that's usually my go-to and comes out actually pretty good. For whatever reason this last time it was horrible I received sausages that were burnt on the outside and raw in the middle I asked for a order of their country gravy that tasted like mildew!!! and egg whites that were severd and slapped on top with cheese there was more cheese than egg it was totally unsatisfying and my server could have cared less that they had just served me raw food came back to the table and informed me that He gave me a $3 coupon discount took off the country gravy and my son's orange juice which his juice has nothing to do with my meal. At the end of the day I have had issues a couple of times with my meals the two older seasoned servers had a personally attacked me in my character in reference to I always complain every time I come into their establishment or when they have served me not a good look for being a server and then they wonder why they didn't get tipped. I contacted the manager spoke to the owner and he referred to me that both the season servers had said to him that I come in and I'm always complaining I was very offended by that. I'm assuming that they said that because those two servers I have not tipped for the way that they have handled the situation with other times I've been in there I promptly said to Tracy the owner what does that have to do with serving raw food with that being said Tracy did however comped my meal. I will never step another foot in the Stardust I wish those two seasonal workers some advice remember we the people are the ones tipping you. I hope whoever reads this review make sure that your food is well cooked. I as a customer or someone that complains has the right to do so. When being served raw food. Into those two servers if you got mad because you didn't get tipped I hope this tip will show you how to get this is why you...
Read moreHad high hopes because of the great reviews, but this was not a good experience or food. Lots of folks seem to like the breakfast, so maybe that’s what we need to try in the future (not that we will be coming back any time soon). Service: After being seated, we waited 20 mins before someone came to take our order. Some folks may need 20mins, but normally a waiter will check in before 20mins. During this time, we watched 3 different guest go up to the counter/cash register where employees hung around to ask for something (more coffee, water, etc). During the majority of our time we were there, the 7 employees working front of house stood around the cash register and we saw other folks have to go up to the group of employees to ask for service.
We got onion rings first and when the server brought them over, he was surprised we didn’t have our milkshakes yet. A few minutes later we got our food and still no milkshakes. We eventually got our milkshakes by a different server, but not immediately after getting our food. Like it was a few bites in after we got our food that we got the milkshakes. One milkshake was the wrong flavor. I appreciated that they offered to remake it, but I had little confidence in how long it would be again before I got it.
It wasn’t clear if to pay at the table with our server or go up to pay at the register. Some servers took the card from the guest at their table while others didn’t. Normally, there would be some communication from the server or signs to let guests know. It seemed like it was whatever the server preferred to do.
Everyone was nice, friendly, but just not proactive, communicative with each other, or attentive to the restaurant guests.
Food: We ordered onion rings, 2 milk shakes, and 2 burgers. Onion rings were the best part of the meal. That’s why they get a 2 star. If you go here, get the onion rings. Although my chocolate milkshake became a raspberry milkshake due to their misunderstanding or miscommunication, it was good. I would recommend. The root beer milkshake barely tasted like root beer. Tasted more like vanilla bth. Burgers were dry and fries were unsalted. The Harley burger (chili burger) barely had any chili on it. The Reuben tasted more like a classic burger. It’s disappointing when you start to think about another restaurants food while at this place.
Atmosphere: very cute diner style restaurant. Comfortable seating, good music,...
Read moreThis is a perfect example of the modified 40s and 50s retro diner as they’ve been laid out across the U.S. beginning in the 70s exuding the stylized and modernistic train car effect. With steel and chrome and glass, plenty of colorful vinyl seats, mica countertops, period glassware, and the ubiquitous juke box. While recently visiting the City of Vancouver, the family (of outrageous eaters) and I recently decided to visit Stardust Diner for their extensive breakfast offers and were not disappointed in the least. This is a busy place, especially weekend mornings – but it did not hamper the courteous and attentive service we received! All around the table, after being served everyone’s meals there seemed a hush not known in my family crowd, they were too busy chomping away at every morsel placed before them, devouring everything on the plate as if it were their last meal! A perfect correlation showing how good it all had been. I had the opportunity to taste some portions of the orders on the table and can justify their actions. From the chicken-fried steak and eggs and a huge variety of pancakes to a multitude of bacon, egg, hash, and potato styles as well as French Toasts. I personally decided on their Redneck Benedict – really, really good, anyone who loves Benedicts should try it (one of the most distinctive I’ve ever savored. All-in-all, Stardust stands as one my top 50 American Diners in the Country....
