Firehouse Subs Venice Marketplace — Restaurant in Florida

Went here to try the new Chicken Gyro Sub! It was 7:30 and we were aware the store closes at 8 and planned on getting our single order to go. Walked in. No usual, "Welcome to Firehouse!" greeting. Employees looked unhappy. Concession station was a mess. My coke tasted like every fruity flavor of the Freestyle machine. As I picked up my order from the counter I asked if they remembered the 'shaker mix', girl said 'yes'. Opened my sandwich in the car I was so hungry and NO shaker mix. Low expectation was on point. I used to work at Firehouse in SRQ and we took care of our store and customers. They still had a half hour to go and were nowhere close to closing with the cleanup they had left. Firehouse Subs is by far one of the best sub places I have ever been to. Their meat and their veggies are fresh they're not watery. There's sandwiches are good size sometimes if you get the big one you can usually eat half and save the other half for later. The staff is very nice and friendly. And I love the atmosphere Plus it helps firefighters local at that. I at least go to Firehouse I would say probably twice a month maybe more. But this location is definitely one of the best. Very disappointed in this branch I work in this area everyday and go to all the surrounding firehouse sub restaurants and was told this branch doesn’t honor the active military or veteran discounts as the other branches but are quick to ask if you want to round up to first responders. I guess our military service or years away from our families isn’t appreciated or recognized. As an HVAC tech I service all of Sarasota county and surrounding areas and there are a ton of veterans around this area. To the owner of this...
