Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Venice

Just hosted a two-day group gathering in Venice, FL and had lunch provided both days by JJ's-Venice. I sent the order to Robert-the store Manager, the week before requesting delivery by 12 noon each day. Each day the food was delivered right on time, and the orders were exactly as requested. Members of our group (from FL, NC, SC, and LA) all commented that the food quality was superior to their experiences in their own locales. In order to maintain a happy group and cover our agenda while on a tight schedule, it was necessary to have lunch done right and delivered right on time. Decided to eat JJs for the first time as evertone seems to rave about it, so I was excited to try it. I ordered the roast beef. Asked if I could have mustard instead of mayo and no tomato. They said no problem. When I got home, I had to pick the tomato off, and the sandwhich was dry, no mayo or mustard. Luckily, I had mustard at home. Anyway, I thought the roast beef was very salty, and truthfully, I thought the roll was tasteless. I don't eat a lot of fast food subs, but I have had the 3 other competitor's food and I have to say, I'll back to them before I go back to JJ. I don't get the JJ hype. Stopped on a Sunday afternoon. Service was quick but NOT the Jimmy Johns l remember from a few years ago! Was heading down 41 and thought about Firehouse but then remembered JJ's and firgured l would stop. That was a mistake!Got a turkey and roast beef giant with cheese. Was shocked when he told me it was $21.92! Asked it says $16 on board but was meet with "you wanted cheese". Not much meat on the sandwiches and not worth $22. Next time l will wait til Obee's is open or go to Publix for half the price ! Definitely...
