Update: May 29, 2024 Dining at The Star Thai Sushi in Venice this past Friday was an unforgettable experience. Despite the bustling crowd due to Good Friday, the restaurant managed to deliver exceptional service. The dinner presentation was simply stunning, almost too beautiful to devour, but the freshness and flavor were irresistible. Breaking away from our usual sushi routine, we ventured into new territory with the Crazy Roll, Venice Roll, and an old favorite, the Bucc-n-Roll. We also indulged in some fresh scallop, hamachi, white tuna, and mackerel sashimi, all of which were incredibly fresh and delicious. However, the Crazy Roll's perfect level of spiciness and the exquisite taste of the Venice Roll, along with its beauty, truly stood out. The evening was complemented by delightful drinks including sangria and wine, followed by soothing green tea. Just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, champagne and a delectable dessert arrived. The fried cheesecake paired with Thai donuts was an indulgent treat, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. Meeting Chef Mike was a highlight, as we had the chance to express our appreciation for the outstanding establishment he oversees. The friendly atmosphere cultivated by the staff further enhanced the overall dining experience. In summary, a fantastic night filled with exquisite food, drinks, and hospitality at The Star Thai Sushi.
Sep 29, 2023 I've had the pleasure of dining at Star Thai Sushi in Venice on numerous occasions over the past two years, and I must say, the restaurant has truly upped its game. The changes in their cuisine, presentation, and service are unmistakable.
One consistent highlight has been the freshness of their dishes. However, during my recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised by a significant upgrade in their presentation. The food wasn't just delectable; it was also artfully presented . This attention to detail extended beyond my table and seemed to be the standard throughout the bustling restaurant.
What trulv impressed me was the exceptional service. Star Thai Sushi has come a long way from my initial visit, which didn't leave a strong impression. In fact, on my second visit, I didn't even recall having been there before. But this recent experience had me exclaiming "wow!" The staff was attentive, well-informed, and added to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience.
In summary, the food at Sta Thai Sushi in Venice has consistently been fresh, but the notable enhancements in presentation and service are excellent. If you've been hesitant to return, I highly recommend giving it another shot. Prepare for a delightful and beautifully presented meal, accompanied by attentive service that will undoubtedly leave you impressed.

Read moreZERO STARS .This had to have been the w o r s t service I've received at any restaurant in my life. When we got there we noticed people huddled inside at the door. No hostess booth or even a hostess in sight, which made things confusing. We quickly learned that the people around us had been waiting for quite some time so we almost left but a worker came up then and started taking down seating number. The place was packed, every seat taken so we tried to be patient. This was all fine until we were seated and didnt get asked for drinks for 30 minutes. By this time I was timing everything. Food order, another 20 minutes. So weve been here and waiting between seating and orders over an HOUR at this point. I sat and watched as one table was very upset over being there 2.5 hours before anyone even brought them a check. Who then asked who the manager was and one of the workers says "uhhhhh idk" and walks away from this very upset customer!! then a woman comes over and starts telling the couple that they have not been here over 2.5 hours and saying they wont comp any pat of their meal. Absolutely unreal ...I cant make this up. Another table that was seated right before us was also upset over the wait and the food order came back wrong so they sent it back but got hassled over it being on the check by a different worker who tells them "Sorry you didnt like it , I cant take it off because you didnt like your food" not that he didnt like it, it was wrong. Catching wind of the smell of that soup...I cant blame them . Ever smelled swamp foot? Now put it in a soup. by this time were here an hour and half and just got our sushi rolls which mine came with black avocado, the kind that supposed to be light green. When I asked for them to remove it from the check because of our wait and the quality of the food I was questioned by the same woman who told the other couple they were waiting that long. She asks me "Well did you eat them all? (with a raised eyebrow and attitude) I told her no I did not eat them all, half of them were sent back. which she then had the guts to say VERY SASSY "hmm okay" and walks away to get the same guy who told the soup guy he couldn't help him because he didnt like his food. He comes over tells me if I didnt like the food I should have sent it back right away.....well I did send it back "right away" which was 15 minutes after we received it , which is when we were checked up on. If youre still with me throughout this review ,wow. I hope if you even try this place that you experience was better than the 5/9 tables that had a terrible time on the Tuesday night that...

We will come here to dine in. Our usual spot is closed for a week or so for some reason. We love the Indian place a few doors away so when this came up on a Yelp search I figured I would drive over from Lake of the Woods/Jacaranda West area and pick it up. By the time I made the trip I did not expect the food to be kitchen hot and fresh: my review is not about that. I suspect to make things even more challenging, they told me it would be ready in 35 to 45 minutes.....and I was there in 30. I think it had been sitting already for a bit...the place was FULL with people waiting. There were 4 drivers in queue for Door Dash and Uber Eats I suspect.
We got the Chicken Satay as a common item, which my wife really enjoyed, the chicken was tender and properly cooked. Sauce and seasoning very nice. 8/10
We got the white rice. i am NOT a fan of white or basmati rice or any white rice for that matter, even brown is suspect with arsenic and chemicals and processing and packaging issue. But I would have gone for brown but that seems to be NOT an option here????
My wife selected the Spicey Basil Shrimp which was also nicely prepared and a healthy variety of vegetables lightly cooked and seasoned, a very nice job. The shrimp seemed a good product and not too scary (smile). She could not finish it and is taking it to work/school tomorrow. 8/10
My daughter rolled with the House Fried Rice with double egg but no meat/chicken. She really enjoyed this and this is here "test" entree. So simple and yet when its poor......you really know it!! Hats off this gets a 9/10
I got the Garden Vegetable Fried Tofu. This has a nice wide array of vegetables nicely firm but amply cooked. The sauce was also very nice. The tofu was cubed and fried on all sides but perfectly done and not greasy and oil charred blocks or rubber. Good tofu product!! I really enjoyed this! I will order this ON SITE when we dine in just to see how much better it will be kitchen to table fresh and hot!! 10/10
So for take out, this was pretty good. 10x better i am sure freshly served and not sitting on a shelf and in a plastic bag.... then driven 20 more minutes to the house..... great job Star Thai & Sushi.
Till we meet again to dine...
