đ Tikka Indian Cuisine â A Comforting Indian Food Stop Near Venice Beach! đ đ Just 12 minutes from Venice Fishing Pier, this cozy Indian restaurant turned out to be the perfect food spot after a long day of beach adventures and soaking in the sun.
After an action-packed day, we were on the hunt for hearty Indian food to wrap up the eveningâand thatâs when we discovered Tikka Indian Cuisine. There was a 20-minute wait, which was manageable thanks to their small but comfortable waiting area. Parking was easy and accessible, a big plus in the area. Given its popularity (mainly with local Americans), Iâd highly recommend booking a table in advanceâespecially on weekends or holidays.
đĄ Ambiance & Service: The ambiance is simple, clean, and fuss-free. Nothing fancy, but it delivers that relaxed, homely vibe perfect for winding down after a tiring day. Service was polite and relatively quick once seated.
đĽ Starters & Drinks: We were welcomed with complimentary papad and chutneys, which is always a nice touch. ⢠Eggplant Chaat: Fried to perfection! The texture was lovely, though the chutneys served with it couldâve been fresher. ⢠Lemon Pepper Salmon Tikka: Cooked well but missed the lemon and pepper punch youâd expect from the name. ⢠Mango Lassi: Thick, creamy, and flavored beautifully with cardamom (elaichi). ⢠Lemonade: Unfortunately, this tasted more like a bottled drink than fresh or house-made.
đ¤ Main Course: We ordered the Shrimp Biryani, and this was undoubtedly the star of the night! ⢠Uniquely prepared with a lovely aroma, the biryani was packed with flavor and came with about 7 well-cooked shrimp. ⢠The presentation was excellent, and the spice level (we chose regular) was just right. ⢠For those who love extra heat, they offer a very spicy side chutney that elevates the dish even further. ⢠The roti was soft and paired nicely with the biryani.
Only small caveat: the portion size may feel a bit limited if youâre very hungry. It was just enough for me and my kiddo, but heavy eaters might want to order individual portions.
đˇ Extras: They also serve wine and beerâgreat for those looking to chill out after a hot day outdoors.
â Final Thoughts: Tikka Indian Cuisine offers a satisfying Indian food experience without burning a hole in your pocket. From flavorful dishes to decent service and a calm environment, itâs a spot Iâd definitely recommend to anyone craving Indian food near Venice Beach. It may not be flashy, but it delivers where it countsâtaste and value.

Read moreWe're snowbirds, in FL about 4 or 5 months a year. After moving into our new condo, we sought out Indian food--and to our great fortune, landed at Tikka Indian Cuisine. Our first visit was a very late lunch. Though quiet and reserved, our waiter that day was prompt, courteous and helpful. I asked what "chettinad" was, and he explained carefully and explicitly. I ordered it [medium hot]. My wife ordered Chicken Korma. We also ordered what we thought was a side, Paneer Saag. Our waiterâAvinashâsaid that was a lot of food; we should have listened, but didn't. Lunches are served on one, large 12" to 14,â round, rimmed, stainless steel platter. and include 1-appetizer of the chef's choosing [in our case that day, a flavorful, fresh & large Samosa], 2-a generous bowl of rice, 3-a bowl of the main dish, 4-Naan and 5-a dessert [rice pudding]. Everything we ordered was made of fresh ingredients, cooked and spiced perfectly & phenomenally tasty. It was the first time I had chettinad; I liked it so much, I ordered it on my next 3 visits to Tikka Indian Cuisine. The Paneer Saag was outstanding as wellâbut was served exactly as the chettinad and kormaâon the big platter with samosa, naan, rice and dessert. Avinash was right, it was a lot of foodâbut leftovers made a nice late evening supper. We have been back to Tikka Indian Cuisine at least 10 times in the first 10 weeks of our time in FL, having taken guests there as well. It is, perhap, the finest Indian-cuisine restaurant in which we have eaten. Avinash has waited on us almost every time, and has expertly guided us through parts of the menu. He introduced us to Gobi Manchuria, a cauliflower dish that is absolutely outstanding. Even if you think you do not like cauliflower, order itâyou will not believe how good it is. My wife and I both highly recommend Tikka Indian Cuisine. It is an outstanding place to eat with outstanding service, amazing food in great varieties and a...
Read moreMy mother and I took my daughter to Tika Indian Cuisine to celebrate her 21st birthday. We started with appetizers including Gobi Manchuria (cauliflower in a garlic sauce, our favorite item of the night!), and Onion Bhaji (seasoned fried onions, enjoyable).
For our entrees, I had the Shrimp Chettinand in a creamy cashew coconut milk sauce with curry and other seasonings (I ordered mild, but it had a little heat to it). I really enjoyed it, but it was my least favorite of the three entrees. The birthday girl ordered Chicken Malabar with coconut, cumin, and curry in an onion and coconut milk sauce. (She LOVED IT! It was my second favorite). My mother had the Malai Chicken in a ginger, garlic, almond, cream cheese marinade cooked in a Tandoor and served on a bed of onions and broccoli (she passed on the bell pepper). It was mild and very flavorful. This is what I am ordering on my next visit!
Our beverages included a delightful Moscato and Masala Chai, which was wonderful.
For dessert, we ordered the Cardamom Date Cake with ice cream ( this was our favorite and will be ordered again), the Chocolate Gulab Jamun ( deep fried cake balls soaked in rose water and Cardamom, covered in chocolate and served with ice cream (we liked the ice cream better than the cake balls), and the rice pudding ( which we did not like at all).
The staff were friendly, attentive, and very patient in describing each dish and sauce to us. The atmosphere was laid back and pleasant, if a bit too dark for our liking. The food quality, quantity, presentation, and price were excellent. While this was our first visit ( I have no idea why we waited so long to try it), it will not be our last. Tika Indian Cuisine will go to the top of the list of our go-to...
