I stumbled upon this place after hearing from people that this place opened recently.
Very spacious for a cafe; has plenty of seating.
The owner and his family are delightful people.
They have a good selection of pastries and desserts. I did not try them this time, so cannot comment on them.
I ordered a tea and Le Veggie croissant sandwich (pesto, tomato, and mozzarella in a croissant). The sandwich was very tasty, but also very small, particularly for the price. It was on this very small round croissant. For the price, it should have been on at least a standard sized croissant. I was also a little surprised that, for a cafe, they only had black tea and chamomile. I would strongly recommend that they increase their tea selection to at least have some green teas and fruity teas. When you are paying more than $3 for tea, you should at least be able to have something a little more premium and interesting than black and chamomile.
Overall, I had a very good experience, but since they are new, I have the following recommendations for improvement for the owners, which I think will go a long way:
Please get rid of the dead Frenchman skeleton (the life-size Halloween skeleton with a French mustache and hat) in the dining area. With the median age in the area over 60, being reminded of your mortality while eating in a cafe is in poor taste. I think the elderly population would appreciate it if you buried the skeleton.
The bathroom sconce above the mirror needs to be professionally fixed. It completely ruins the charm of the place to walk into the bathroom and see that an old sconce was ripped off the wall and another one just installed right over the damaged wall without any finishing or painting. Attention to detail is everything in a cute cafe. If there are other things that are not finished, please finish them.
The toilet paper needs to be upgraded. This is not McDonald's where you can get away with tissue paper toilet paper. I paid over $18 for a croissant sandwich and tea. A reasonable quality toilet paper would be nice.
The dining area needs some charm. It is a big space and right now it is very bland. Only the red chairs add a pop of color. Maybe add some fake plants, some white patio or Christmas lights, some cute decorations, something to make the space look cozy and charming. Make the space inviting for people to come with friends, for some coffee and pastries and just relax.
I hope my comments are not taken harshly. I really like the people that work there and I wish them all the best in this new business so I thought I would provide some helpful suggestions. The place...
Read moreWow! I had no idea this little Gem of a French Bakery/coffee/wine cafe was so close to me!
I was impressed as soon as I walked in the door and was warmly greeted by the 2 women behind the counter.😊
It was difficult to choose my latte and pastry as there were so many tempting choices.🥐☕️
Then I had to choose where to sit and hang out with my book. Again, lots of choices of sitting areas. I liked how the music was not too loud so that you could have a conversation if meeting a friend.
The menu had a nice collection of quiches, salads, flatbreads, and French cheese plates.
Also offered is a glass of wine or beer to go along with your yummy lunch.
My vanilla-caramel latte and chocolate avalanche pastry was incredible. I will have to force myself to try a different yummy pastry on my next visit. 😊
I will definitely be back, and will pass along my rave review to my friends and neighbors.😀👍
9-4-24 Review update: I have been back so many times since my 1st review - always a great experience!😊
Alexis, Aubrey, and Shawnna help me decide on a new latte creation, and I have enjoyed every time:☕️
Pistachio-Mocha Coconut-Almond Vanilla-Mocha Dirty Chai Caramel-Mocha
Alexis suggested a Raspberry-Mocha latte for my next visit.👍
I like how they offer Oat milk for my lattes, and I heard today that Almond milk is now an option.
Today I brought my mother for lunch and we shared a yummy sandwich with a glass of French Laur sauvignon blanc wine. We enjoyed both!🥖🥂
Tomorrow I am introducing a neighbor friend to the Cafe and will try one of their delicious looking quiches for breakfast. 😀
10-31-2024 - Update
Still impressed with Moulin Blanc Cafe every time I visit!
Today Alexis created a yummy Coconut-mocha latte for me to go with the seasonal pumpkin danish - wow!👍🥐☕️
I like how the danish choices change: blueberries 🫐, cherries 🍒, pumpkin 🎃, etc. All excellent.
Next time, I will have to try the new quiche, Goat cheese 🐐 & bacon. I am sure it will be wonderful. 😀
Thank you to the staff for always making me...
Read moreMy first experience was seamless. My second experience was annoying. I placed an order and when I went in to pick it up, the girl behind the counter barely looked at me. She was engaging with another person at the counter who was on her laptop. She never said hello, asked me who I was…nothing! She just hands me my order. It turns out the cookie I ordered was not available, but I was not told that upon arrival. I did receive credit however it would have been nice to know so that I could be offered a substitution. The last and final time was this past Saturday. My husband and I stopped in for breakfast. I ordered a quiche and a latte. He ordered a smoothie and a chocolate avalanche croissant. Mind you there were 2 pieces of this croissant in the case when we walked in. I received my order, and he received his smoothie. He asked to have it made with almond milk, but it was not even after them telling us it was possible. After 20 minutes of placing the order, I inquired where his croissant might be. The girl went in the back to check. We were told that they ran out and that they had to make more. Well, why were we not told this??? She kept making excuses, blah, blah, blah and it was another 20 minutes by the time he was served. 40 minutes for a croissant with no communication about an oversight on their part? Thanks, but we will not be returning to this establishment. It is much easier and painless to drive through the Dunkin next door.
Obviously you did not read my review in it's entirety. I never complained about the food which I enjoyed. Your inattentive staff and their complete lack of awareness is what your business is lacking. I have found much friendlier, engaging and capable people that actually like what they are doing and contribute to the...
