Sack O' Subs — Restaurant in Ventnor City

I typically do not complain nor write reviews but this situation merited an HONEST review.

I typically go to White House but due to extreme traffic in Atlantic City, I thought Sack O’ Subs would be a good alternative. I was at Sack O’ Subs for dinner (Ventnor location) on Sunday, June 29 around 6pm. I ordered a half Whipped Tuna Sub with lettuce, tomato, onion, and provolone cheese. Everything seemed fine at the time but this quickly changed as I came down with food poisoning later that evening. So much so that I missed work the next day (Monday, June 30).

Even with all that said I contacted the business prior to writing the review. I spoke with an employee and explained to her my situation very nice and cordial. I explained how I wanted to give them a heads up first and foremost so other people do not get sick. Secondly, I thought the least they could do was to refund me my bill. She was extremely defensive and would not entertain the issue or refund the bill or show the least bit of remorse.

I can only hope that whoever took my order over the phone is the franchise owner because the way this guy handled me would be firing offense if I ran the place.

On August 5th at about 7:30PM, I called with a fairly sizeable order and I ordered 80% of it without event. But when I ordered a sausage and egg sandwich (and asked on behalf of my friend) if there was some sort of sauce that came with it, the man who took the order, expressed some confusion at which point I asked again if there was sauce. He said with about the rudest attitude imaginable,"Not a single sandwich of ours has sauce on it. NONE."

I said "All you had to do was say no. And he said "I'm good at saying no. In fact, I'm about to say no to this order."

I had some hungry kids here and wanted to get it over with so I ordered some fries. I'm not exactly sure what he said after that, but he felt the need to revisit the sauce issue, proceeded to mumble something else and then hung up.

Absolutely the nastiest tasting cheesesteak I’ve ever had. I’ll stick with Dinos in Margate. Service was very good but the food quality is just not there ! Also on another occasion we had problems with delivery person. Delivery has improved since then but the food quality is the biggest issue. Person who took my order was very nice and professional. Service is great including delivery but the food is awful!!! Let me specific. The cheesesteaks are awful and the melted provolone sub was burnt when I ordered previously. I will say that the homemade soups are very delicious!!! I prefer Dinos Subs in Margate. I’ve tried on multiple different occasions to dine with Sack O subs is extremely inconsistent with food quality and service especially with the delivery service. It’s unfortunate because I grew up in Ventnor and used to live Sack O Subs but the food quality and service just isn’t what it used to be. The girls taking the order at the counter were awesome! Not sure who’s cooking the food but it’s just not good compared to other subs...
