Stella — Restaurant in Ventnor City

We ordered mussels as an appetizer. They never came. When our entree came, I mentioned we’re still waiting for the mussels. They girl shrugged. The waitress came over and asked how everything was. I said we ordered mussels and never got them. She unapologetically said I never ordered them . My husband who is hard of hearing said he eve heard me order them. Not pleased with the arrogance. I was even going to buy one of theirshirts. Don’t need it now!!

Addendum The owner/ manager , Vince has since called me to apologize for our bad experience. He was very gracious and apologetic. So we are going to definitely give Stella’s another chance as this was our first bad experience there. Vince reassured me that they are really trying to maintain an impeccable reputation and give their customers the best service.possible They were short handed that evening and deserve another chance. So I will give them that as this has been one of our favorite restaurants for the past few years. Adding a couple stars to my review for Vince reaching out and caring. Will write new review...

The hot new trendy place, missed the mark. THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY The Good: The food, the greeting upon arrival The bad: They charge $8 for 4 small dinner rolls, although I must admit that is my pet peeve. I do not like when any high end eating establishment charges for bread, especially when the prices on the menu are not cheap for anything. The Ugly: The dining room temperature way too hot, others were complaining as well, the tight quarters and the fact that I checked in upon arrival and my open table reservation was cancelled instead of saying I was there to get my open-table points. Lovely restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Even though the space is small and all the tables were seated, it was still an intimate experience and not too loud. I enjoyed the baked eggplant and my partner had the scallops and shrimp - both fantastic. I am gluten free and they had numerous options. GF options were not marked on the menu but our server was knowledgeable as to what was GF. We had gelato for dessert - it was a little melted but still yummy. The service was excellent.
