I’m a local and I went in to help my father who is hard of hearing for an appointment made by Verizon and the white guy working seemed uninterested in helping me because he gave me little to no words. I still waited patiently for him to be done assisting with the customers that were there before me, which he seemed happy to do. Im the one who approached him once again with a hello once he was done with all customers and he was very hostile and arrogant when I was telling him what Verizon customer service told me over the phone to go do for the appointment at this store. I’m Mexican and honestly there was a racial aggression towards me and my father for sure. He made looks towards us, was not helpful, and he was also strangely using my fathers phone under the counter which was lowkey suspicious so I got closer to see what was going on since he was not trying to say anything to us for 25 minutes. He then quickly put the phone on the counter and I’m not even exaggerating because there’s for sure cameras there. He then started to change his demeanor once white people came in, that’s when he had a smile on his face greeting them but I was never greeted once. His body language said it all because he was saying little to nothing. He said he couldn’t do anything so we proceeded to leave, he continued to make looks towards us and back at the white customers like if we were out of place or unwelcome to be there. I didn’t ask for his name but he definitely has to be the most racially motivated Verizon employee ever. I’ve never had an experience like this and I wouldn’t want people of color to have an experience like the one I had. Read moreI went into this store with few questions and to purchase accessories. I waited for Jose to finish assisting a customer. When he finished with the customer, it was my turn. I hesitated a moment and he abruptly told me to get to the question, he had customers waiting. (The customers who were waiting had walked into the store within a minute of him finishing up with the prior customer so they were hardly waiting.) I had no problem patiently waiting for him to finish with the previous customer, but when it came to my turn he was all of a sudden in a rush to move on to the next. We have been a Verizon customer for a long time and have many phones on our plan, along with cable and internet. There is no excuse for treating a customer that way, whether they be a new customer or somebody who has been a loyal customer like me. He greets you immediately and makes you feel so comfortable in asking any questions about all the phones. This is important as I am a Senior and not as savvy as I wish I was .
