Really disappointed. Was looking forward to a relaxing beer and dinner with a close friend, but it was anything but. We attempted to order Black-n-Tans or a Half-n-Half, but the waiter gave us a confused look and simply stated he didn’t think he could make that. Somewhat surprising for a craft beer joint, but not a deal breaker at all. He wasn’t even able to suggest anything similar, so we were on our own picking something random from the beer menu. We ordered different beers and dinner off the menu. When our meals arrived, my salad was incorrect. I had ordered the Verde Steak salad, but they brought me the grilled veggie salad instead. No problem - mistakes happen. He took my salad back to get the correct salad going. It took so long that by the time I got my dinner, my friend was completely finished with his entire meal. When I looked at my steak salad, I immediately noticed that the onion rings that are supposed to top the salad were completely forgotten. By this time it was late (10:45pm). I felt frustrated and didn’t have the energy to send it back. AGAIN. My friend had ordered the fish and chips (which was mediocre), and the waiter didn’t even bother to bring malt vinegar or ketchup… we had to flag him down and request condiments. Mind you, this was all after 10:30pm, so they were not busy. It just felt like the entire experience was a struggle. We couldn’t wait to just finish and get out of there. I’m not sure what happened, but the whole establishment seemed off. They did comp my salad, but I would much rather have paid full price and received what was expected. Lots of room for...

Overpriced and pretentious! I gave this place 2 chances as I like to give a fair shake before writing a review. The first time I thought the food was just okay. The drinks are way over priced $9 for a craft beer 10$ for a weak margarita. It took about 20 minutes to get a waiter, never brought water about 45 minutes for food to arrive. The second time was worse. No water again! asked twice for it before getting any. Waiter didn't have any recommendation for a drink or food. Settled on a Chorizo Queso Skillet dip appetizer and Fire-Roasted Chicken pizza. Again 45 minute wait for food to arrive, and the appetizer and pizza came at the same time. When I pointed this out to the waiter he said, "Sorry we're busy." The pizza literally had 5 tiny pieces of chicken on the entire pizza. Yes 5 I counted them. In this case it's two strikes you're out.

If you read the reply by the owner you will see he makes an excuse for the time delay, and absurd prices, but never addresses the subpar service and food quality. He never addresses the FACT that the appetizer and main course came at the same time, that I asked for water twice, and that the Pizza was basically a cheese pizza although advertised as chicken. Again I gave this venue two chances before making a review. I think I gave it a fair shake. No I will not be returning, but thanks...

Alrighty, I love the vibe here. It's a lovely space, nice staff, and the beer selection is the best in town. The food is lacking on many levels which is a symptom of the high staff turnover. The spinach artichoke dip is mostly cream cheese. The chorizo dip has no chorizo. The buffalo dip is basically only jalapeno with no actual buffalo flavours. If you do stuffed jalapenos you've got to clear at least some of the seeds so there's not extreme variation of spice in each bite. Blue cheese can go bad (smells like lemon pledge) and when it does don't put it on a steak. If the steak is supposed to be cooked medium, well done is not cool. If someone pays and the shift switches, don't lose their money and ask for another $70. It feels like Brick house is sabotaging itself and if there were other options in town that offered similar food at the same hours they would actually be forced to step it up. All this being said, trivia night, open mic night, and the overall experience is still decent. Just go in with the right...

We stopped in on a Friday night. Despite being busy, our server was quick and attentive. Food came quickly and all of it was amazing. We started out with the Big A*!# Pretzel, which is exactly what it claims to be. It was huge, hot, fluffy and comes with 3 amazing dips. My wife had the Brick House Burger, which she said was amazing. My son had the chicken tenders which were huge and delicious. Lastly, I had the Sirloin Steak dinner, which comes with a choice of two sauces. I chose the creamy brandy mushroom sauce, which was delicious. The steak was cooked to medium rare perfection. It also came with a choice of two of four sides. I chose the side salad, which was just right, and the crispy brussels sprouts, which were excellent! Nice atmosphere here, and we were impressed! We'll certainly be back when in the area!

Nice place, food was average. Was hoping for better so I'm a little disappointed . I had the special beer battered walleye which was good, very large fillet . Coleslaw was very unique and different. Sriracha tasted weird all most sour, my friends steak fries were well done picture says it all. Service was decent except for our waitress reaching across people plates to bring condiments instead of walking around the table. She needs a bit more training. All in all not a bad little place to eat. Would gave it more stars but the place felt like it was in a funk and maybe needs a pick-me-up.

This is just the type of restaurant Vermillion needed. Dakota Brick House is not one of the usual college bars, but a true cocktail bar serving the classics and anything else you can come up with. The selection was great and the menu prices were very reasonable. Definitely give the beer cheese a try while you're here. Our server, a college student, was very helpful and friendly. I was a little disappointed in the preparation of a couple of the cocktails, but I would like to come back again and try some others.
