The Bean Community Coffeehouse — Restaurant in Vermillion Township

The Bean recently moved next door into a newly renovated space with more seating and, most importantly, they now have an espresso machine! See them at the place labeled "COFFEE" on Main Street. :) They offer both Good Folks and Coffea Rotisserie drip coffee and espresso options, as well as a great variety of teas, iced and bottled drinks, granola bars, and fresh baked goods! (Their chocolate chip cookies are to die for, especially if you catch them while they are fresh out of the oven!!!) They also have a few shirts, mugs, hats, soap bars, and coffee by the bag for sale. Top notch employees who love to chat if you have the time. Great place to study, have a coffee date, or just read a good book by the window. Buy 10 drinks get the 11th free with their punch card, and they now offer a membership for $50 where you get a free mug, a free drink every month, plus additional special offers just for members. I visited the coffee shop twice for coffee on weekends. The ambience of the place was pleasant and the service very friendly. However, on both occasions I found the coffee to be subpar in terms of taste and presentation. I ordered decaf oat milk latte with an extra shot of espresso on both occasions and on both occasions, the coffee taste didn’t come through well enough. On both occasions, the coffee was presented in disposable takeaway cups, when I actually expected them to be served in ceramic cups, since I didn’t ask for a takeaway and I seated myself in one of the chairs. Modern coffee shop with lots of seating, easy and FREE PARKING which is not usually a problem in Vermillion. Located downtown, walking distance to the library,and lots of places to eat. The staff are so friendly and make beautiful designs in every cup! Great place to grab coffee with friends, study for exams or work. Along with great tasting coffee they always have homemade, made-that-day pastries and cookies, prints by local artists for sale as well as mugs, journals, and some merch from Sharing The Dream.
