I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The staff really had great suggestions and were attentive with our dirty used dishes and refilling drinks. We all stuck with the Korean dishes which are hard to find around the Midwest here. The bulgogi and kimchi stir fry were very well sauced and the bulgogi especially is some of the best I've found in my travels. I personally had the bibimbap and thought it was excellent. The sauce they bring with is a red bean base bibimbap sauce and really added a lot of great depth to the flavors. While the rice was perfect, excellent and cooked great, I was slightly disappointed the hot stone pot it came in was not hot enough like they usually are to keep cooking the rice touching it and make it crispy. Overall, I will be coming here for more, and I live a good hour away. That should tell you something huh?

Fantastic Korean place. If you’ve never had Korean, you must try. It’s kind of like Chinese but with more flavor. They have an assortment of both spicy and regular meals. They also cook to order, so you can get a non spicy meal made spicy if you want, or the same in reverse. They have spicy soups as well, in addition to the regulars. Each meal has an independent sauce as well. So for the places that use the same brown sauce on multiple meals.... you won’t find that here. This was also started by the original owners of Chae’s, so if you liked Chae’s, you’ll certainly like this place as well. If you’ve never had Korean, but you like any other kind of Asian food, including Mongolian Grill places like HuHot, then you really should try Silk Road.

This place is amazing. Chinese food that has that homemade taste. Finally a restaurant that serves this genre of food without gallons of grease sliding down my throat. Super classy atmosphere with an option for takeout. Can't get any better!

Saturday, April 3rd, we ordered food via phone call, and was given the worst possible service possible. We called a order in, and forgot to ask for the price, and so I called and told the gentleman that answered the phone he forgot to tell us how much the order was going to be, and he told me, well, the lady didn’t ask, and chuckled, and then told me for 3 meals was going to cost us $57.00. After talking it over with everyone, the way he just talked to us, we were not going to give someone $57 for bad service that we got just for calling in and asking how much it was going to be. So I called back and told him I just called and asked for a price, and I now want to cancel my order, and CLICK!! 😲 I just got hung up on. 🤔 So I waited for a minute and called back and I told the same gentleman that just hung up on me, I told him that I just called to cancel an order, and I got hung up on. His excuse he gave me was, “I thought the conversation was over, so I hung up”. So I said, normally, when a conversation is over, one or both say “bye”, but I did not. So he said “ Bye, and hung up on me again!!” I had never eaten at this place before and wanted to try it but after the service I received, I will never try or eat at this...

Tried to get a large take out order and received perhaps the worst service ever. After waiting for over twenty minute to place orders while others came and went We were told our order was too large and that sit down and smaller customers take precedence so instead of placing our order they just set it aside!!! That is perhaps the most idiotic thing I have ever heard. Apparently a large take out order over 200 is not worth as much as smaller sit down orders? The manager was extremely rude and basically pushed us out the door. Rather than apologizing for being busy he was angry we came in and ordered too much food. Not that good service is their livelihood or anything...It took almost an hour to get a take out order. I wish we would have just done the manager a favor and left. But since you have to pay before you get your food we were left little choice except not only to never go back but make sure everyone I meet knows that Silk Road is only worth going to if you want an awful experience, rude service, and a manager who berates you for expecting him to do his job. Well that’s 10 less customer they ever have to worry about. ...
