Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Vernon Township

this store does NOT accept online orders, not even for take-out. Must call to order takeout/pickup orders. Don’t spend time trying online. At this writing, could not find anything online indicating online takeout orders not accepted. Don’t waste your time trying as I did. 2. Specials NOT all at advertised price. If you order even one steak on the “2 for 25” menu, you pay an up charge. 3. Arrived at exact time given to pick up order. Happily, it was ready! Drove the 7 minute drive home to find the steak we paid extra for was bloody & cold. Would love to give this Applebee’s a great rating because it is in my hometown but for takeout, I just can’t. UPDATE: shortly after this review, I received an email from Applebee’s Guest Relations. I was told I would hear from a franchisee representative within a few days. A local manager left me a voicemail; I returned the call & left a message but received no call back. I called again to find out she was out for several days so I left a message. Eventually I received another voicemail message that said my last message had been lost & only recently found. I decided to end the telephone tag at that point & did not attempt to connect with the manager again. I’m not certain how to judge the experience. Not impressed today! I usually love this place. I ordered 4 lunch meals for my office. Usually Deb has everything bagged up and ready to go at car side, gives me the totals over the phone and I label the cards for her... Not this time! Got a guy who made me come in because I had 4 separate meals! I had to sit and wait for him to acknowledge me, he looked very overwhelmed. And then it took him 5 minutes to ring me out, with my 4 debit cards. He stopped ringing my orders after the first one and handled another guest who came up to the bar for a pick up after I got there because they only had 1 order. By the time I got the food to the office, by Walmart, it was all cold! We had just ordered mostly the same meals from here earlier in the week and the portion sizes were VERY different, about half of the previous visit! The 3 cheese chicken cavatappi was dry, and this is my favorite item on the menu! Very disappointing! Will think twice before going back which is unfortunate because there aren't many other options in the area. Update: 4-17-17 The general manager reached out to me and I feel confident that the issue I experienced on this visit will be taken care of. First time at this Applebee's. It was Labor Day and everywhere was closed. Happy they were open. It was very nice. No wait, and we were seated right away. Clean looking, friendly, glad we stopped. We would be willing to go back.

Our waitress was friendly and prompt. We needed extra napkins at one point and the lady at the bar was nice enough to bring us some, without appearing 'bothered' so I appreciate that. I was super happy the waitress provided me with extra ranch in a little cup without me even asking for it. (I had the bacon ranch burger) I thanked her of course, and was a little shocked, so I asked her why. She said "because people seem to enjoy it, and if they need it they don't have to ask for it" So, either out of kindness to the customer or not wanting to get it later, either way, I really appreciated the gesture. I may not have needed it, but rest assured, I used it Ha Ha. I even shared it with my husband. Ahh, the little things in life. Amazing how a tiny cup of ranch dressing can brighten ones day. We only had burgers and fries, so those are difficult to do wrong. The bacon was real, but tiny, skinny strips. Not a long wait, and the food was hot, so all in all a good time.
