I was wondering if we just hit this place on a REALLY off night, but I see other reviewers had similar issues. So I'll share my story.
We are frequent visitors of their 'sister' restaurant Timbercreek right next door, and I finally convinced my wife to give Fat Eddy's a shot. I'm a huge brisket fan, so I was super excited to see brisket as one of the high-end entrees on the menu. We got the smoked wings as our app, and they were quite good (the only reason you got 2 stars from me). And then the entrees came... starring my precious brisket dish (cue the tuba). Lukewarm, bland, and desiccated, that poor hunk of meat had been destroyed. There was just a bit of "juice" on the plate... but it was watery?? Like they had been keeping it warm in a steam bath??? Not sure what that was all about, but it didn't taste like ANY brisket I've had before or since... and it surely wasn't something I thought management should be proud of. After two bites, I couldn't bring myself to take a third... it was SOOOO dry and flavorless. UGH. My wife implored me to send it back. So I did.
We watched as our young waitress awkwardly approached the manager, and then watched the manager turn and march assertively to our table. When she arrived, there was no smile... no apology... just an abrupt "what do you want instead?" in a tone that was unmistakably challenging. I wanted to challenger her back: "do you have any brisket that was actually cooked THIS WEEK??". But I bit my tongue and took her suggestion to try the Bourbon Chicken. She marched off without another word but with PLENTY of body language, and we never saw her near our table again.
The Bourbon Chicken wasn't a disaster but still quite underwhelming. I ate about a third of it, and left the rest on the table. My daughter had the grilled cheese which she wasn't all that thrilled with either. My wife sipped her wine and sat bemused as I languished in my disappointment... realizing it would be a LONG time before I would convince her again to invest another evening at a barbecue joint.
All-in-all an EXTREME letdown we will not subject ourselves to again. Oh, what could...
Read moreHorrible BBQ, Horrible service, Horrible prices. I took the previous review with a grain of salt being it was the only review....well the previous reviewer was spot on.
We will start with BBQ. Pulled pork was dry, brisket was flavorless and tough, ribs were like a well done steak...tough and overcooked. The baked potato that was served as a side was warm and firm, and the corn bread was dry. My daughter said her pulled pork sandwich was all bread, and had no flavor. The whole smoked wings...not my thing..so I won't judge them... We are a chicken wing family, but no one really like them.
We are a family of 6..during a busy day, I expect some delays.. this was a Thursday, we were one of 4 tables in the dining area, with maybe 2 tables in the bar...and I saw several servers. I was constantly telling my server we needed drinks. Even after our food was delivered, we had to wait almost 10 minutes to catch the server to get drinks for my young kids so they didn't choke on their over cooked chicken tenders and burger. I think he was only running 3 tables but was as tentative as a server with a full section of large parties.
Let's talk about the pricing. For the quality of food, it is waaaayyy overpriced. It cost me close to 200$ to feed my family. I can get my family all ribeyes at Texas roadhouse, and spend less than I did on this Horrible display of BBQ.
Needless to say, if your a BBQ fan..find...
Read moreFirst of all the only reason i left 2 stars is because the waitress was great. Other than that i wouldn't recommend this establishment. I ordered the brisket. Which was a huge disappointment. The only flavor was the salt they put on it before it came out. No smoke ring and no smoke flavor at all!!! And was 90% fat and 10% meat... I also got the smoked wings. These as well were bland with very little smoke flavor. The blackened ranch dressing was the only saving grace for the wings. The beans are what i can only imagine as bush's bake beans from a can. Very bland as well. The mac and cheese was terrible as well. No flavor and the cheese was gritty feeling very odd. My wife had the bourbon glazed chicken. And it was very greasy and she didn't care for that meal. Greasy and very bland again. On top of our meal we ordered 3 mixed drinks. Which tallied over 20.00 for the 3. And our grand total of 86.00 plus a tip for small portions and terrible food which i can't even classify as bbq. If the owners feel this is good barbecue. You may want to take a tour of the southern states. And bring some flavorful seasonings back. I've worked and ate all over the southern states and this place give...
