Schuss Bar — Restaurant in Vernon Township

Let me start off by saying the pizza and wings here are great! We come here fairly often.

Unfortunately the staff does not know how to handle a large crowd of people. We tried to get a table recently and the hostess (Linda) quoted us 30-60 minutes. That's a pretty big time we got but we figured whatever, we'll wait. We walked around to check for bar seats and noticed four empty tables that were not seated. When we asked about the empty tables, We were told they were for a reservation at 8:00 p.m. The current time was 6:30 p.m. The reservation was an hour and a half away. So they were just planning on letting these tables sit open and unused until the reservation time at 8:00 p.m. rather than seating a table and getting some food moving.

After an hour, we went upstairs to check in with the hostess again. She shrugged at us and told us she still has no tables because there were reservations and it was unlikely that we were going to get a table. After 2 hours of waiting, the hostess still told us there were no tables and she did not know when there would be a table. We spoke with the manager who explain to us that they were short-staffed and they were just waiting for tables to be cleaned. I guess these tables never got cleaned because we were never called for our spot on the wait list at all.

I get that they might be a little short-staffed, but a little bit of proper training for the hostess on how to seat open tables and manage a waitlist with reservations would really go a long way for this place. We will probably be going somewhere else next time. Not worth the hassle of trying to deal with them on a busy night when they clearly can't handle...

My experience was terrible. The pizza tasted like someone in the kitchen made it from a lunchables package.The taste may have ruined me from ever working up the courage to order a pizza ever again in my life. I started to get nervous when I ordered the pizza 4 minutes ago and I see the server heading towards me with it. I was thinking that can’t be mine not enough time has passed. Just had dinner here and we are very happy with the food and service. We had a little issue with our hotel room and they went above to make it right and when we went to dinner they made sure we had an amazing dinner. Was surprised by how amazing the staff was and how they went above and beyond to make sure we had a good night, it was much appreciated. The manager Corey went above and beyond for us and we couldn't be happier with everything thanks guys keep up...
