Carvel — Restaurant in Vernon

I am not one to give a compliment unless it is well deserved. I haven’t gone to Carvel for a long time because I am accustomed to the old traditional Carvel Ice Cream and no one seems to make their ice cream the old way. I had ordered a small Vanilla soft serve. I was over the moon. For the first time in forever I had an ice cream that tasted like it was not watered down or frozen ice. The ice cream was so creamy. The size of the small was much larger than what you get when you order a small. This carvel sucks. They always run out of flavors. I couldn't get a coffee milkshake. He couldn't make me a milkshake with hard ice cream because some nonsensical reason about the machine used to mix the milkshake not able to mix when they use the very same machine at every other carvel I've been too and ordered a milkshake of any flavor hard or soft. He said he can only make a milkshake using soft serve so chocolate or vanilla only. I've been disappointed every single time I've gone here. I have been a loyal customer of this location for several years. I recently purchased a gift card to purchase a cake. The male employee advised they don't accept gift cards. When I pointed out to him that the Carvel website reflects this location accepts them, he proceeded to tell me his "gift card machine" wasn't working. He would not manually enter in the numbers, he just flat out refused it. I put in a complaint with corporate where they said they would look into it and then stopped responding. Can't get a response no matter what. Lesson learned... Do NOT buy gift cards with intentions...
