Tequila's Authentic Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Versailles

We've eaten here 5 times in the last 2 years trying to give this place a chance and are disappointed every time. Margaritas too much syrup and not enough alcohol. Food is mediocre at best without flavor. Service is fast but all of the female servers are not friendly and act as if they are bothered to even take your order. This visit the chips were stale, along with the same terrible tasting margaritas, food and negative server. I give one star for fast service and one male server/greeter/checkout that is friendly. My wife and I are retired now although she’s still a rookie! We like to take drives in the country and usually look for a Mexican restaurant and today we completed the Tequilas trilogy in Southern Indiana. Last year we visited Tequilas in Rising Sun IN and everything was great except the margarita did not pass the wife test. Last month we stopped at the location in Vevay IN and everything was super! Great looking place for a small town. And the bean dip was a nice touch I haven't seen before. The rest of the food including the chips and salsa was bland and mild af. Service was sparse and multiple times when looking for my waitress I found her in a both in her phone. Significant language barrier too even while considering its a Mexican establishment. Not one I'd be keen on returning to but it doesn't seem like many other options out...
