I come to V'burg every 3 to 4 months. I've eaten lunch here 6 times over the last 2 years. Their artisan style pizza is superb. Even the one with cauliflower crust is good. Today I thought I should try something different, so I opted for the lasagna. Being homemade I expected it to be bubbley hot with the cheese on top slightly crusty. No. The plate was hotter than the food. Plate scorching (server warned me) while the lasagna was lukewarm. Must have been pre-made and kept in the fridge until ordered, then popped in the oven for a few minutes. It came out a lot quicker (before I even finished my salad) than I expected for baking such a dish, and I like to cook. I expected to wait 10 minutes, not 2 minutes. It was out faster than pizzas in the past. It was rather bland - no garlic, no oregano, no basil. Cheeses were good, meat layer was skimpy, and their sweet tomato sauce is too sweet for me. Not quite dessert, but almost. The Italian bread was good, but came with cinnamon butter rather than garlic butter. No garlic butter in an Italian restaurant? What gives? Server Chandler was fairly attentive and their whole staff is friendly and welcoming, as always. I will still come back on future trips, but will stick with their pizza. Previously I sort of wished they would use some or a little more tomato sauce on their pizzas, depending on which one I get, but after having the sauce on my lasagna today, I'm glad they don't. Stick with the pizzas...
Read moreFirst time being here sometime in 2020, the lasagna was okay - it didn't really have much flavor. Our waiter was very good, kept checking up on us. The bread that came with the lasagna was good, my salad was good & the wait time for our food was good. The odd thing I noticed when people came in & would wait by the hostess station (which the hostess was not there) people from the kitchen said you can seat yourself - found that odd. Overall it was a good experience.
Second time being here 5/13/2023 I got a to go order. Got the Trio Appetizers Fried Ravioli, Fried Spear Pickles & Mozzarella sticks. The fried ravioli was okay, but even better in the marinara. The Fried Spear Pickles were pretty good & the mozzarella sticks were not good. I also got the Philly Cheese steak pizza, oh em gee what a delicious pizza & I love the crust! We'll definitely order this again. The ranch was okay, my husband & brother in law love the ranch. I did have to wait probably 20 more minutes then expected which was no big deal to me. However while I was waiting there was a woman yelling at one of the cooks which was very unprofessional due to the fact the kitchen is basically open & everyone sitting or waiting...
Read moreLiterally THEE WORST so called “Italian food” I’ve ever eaten. And that’s saying A LOT. It was even worse than Apple Bees chicken Parmesan! The chicken on top wasn’t a cutlet or chicken breast patty or anything that you’d usually see when ordering chicken Parmesan. It was just cut fried chicken with no mozzarella cheese and sauce on it, just dry , very, hard fried chicken. It was so odd. It sat upon some overcooked pasta in a very thick, congealed, dry, absolutely bizarre sauce that tasted nothing like Alfredo sauce. The fries were dry and hard. The shrimp po boy had a lot of dry bread in the way of what little shrimp were actually on the sandwich. Also , I ordered sweet tea and it was anything but! It had zero sugar in it and zero flavor. It tasted like dirty dish water. I don’t know what other people are ordering to give this place 4 stars, but it can’t be the chicken Parmesan, that’s for sure. We spent about $75, plus tip for 3 people and that’ll never happen again.😝 On the bright side, the waitress was nice and the service was fine.Eating in Vicksburg is always a...
