Great place. I go to Victoria once a month with my 83 year old mother. We decided to try different restaurants each time we go. So this past trip was Fossati's Deli's turn. We had read an article about it and so we were very excited to see and try it.
Finding it was easy. Parking was difficult. I had to drop my mom off on the corner and she held on to a fire hydrant while I made the block for what felt like ten times. Finally a space opened up and won't you know it. It was right across the street from the fire hydrant she was clinging to attempting to keep her balance.
Getting inside was well pretty difficult. The step to get in is a big one if you are older. Thankfully a man that was having his lunch inside saw me trying to push/ lift/carry my mother up the step and through the door. I don't think we would have made it without him.
We ordered our deli favorite to share. A Rueben. It was definately big enough to split between two people. It was very good.
The building is amazing. The staff friendly and kind. The experience over all ( with the exception of the barriers) was pleasant. It is worth a trip and some change to experience not only a little piece of Victoria's history but an affordable, very lovely...

Not only was the staff immensely friendly, but so were the customers — even sharing tips on where to eat once we made it to Seadrift! I had the Cuban sandwich, served warm on a panini-style bread with three kinds of meat and mustard. Paired with a fresh garden salad, it was absolutely delicious. My friends ordered the Napoleon and Katy’s Platter — both were equally amazing.
The atmosphere is full of charm, and with 140 years of the same family running it, you can feel the history. It’s the oldest deli in Texas, and you can tell they take pride in everything they serve.
Prices were reasonable, the vibe was unforgettable, and while we had to pass on dessert this time, we’re already planning a return visit on the way home. Highly...

The last four times I've been it has been immensely better than the first time I went.
I would recommend the Dutch Lunch or the Frank Napoleon Sub.
Previously: Locals love this place for some reason.
I think the "Historic" nature of this place is the draw. About all it's worth to me is an exterior photo opportunity.
I went here years ago and the service was slow. We could not get in and out during the lunch hour. The portions were small and underwhelming. For a delicatessen I expected a meat counter or counter service and this is not that.
I would prefer other delis over this or just making my...
