UPDATE July 18, 2019: Pizza Nights are now Friday-Saturday 6pm-9pm. Since the end of 2018 I have attempted to patron pizza nights 4 times and on different days and each time I was turned away because they closed early each time for different reasons with the last time being the Chef went home ill. I'm not sure how or why the Sous Chef or Chef de Partie couldn't handle pizza night, but either way they closed. Thankfully, Jonathan is a really great guy and manager and made my 5th visit possible since they were finally open when I arrived. He made sure that dinner was enjoyable and as always, stellar service.

UPDATE October 26, 2018: Pizza nights are a great addition to Huvar's! Every Thursday - Saturday 6pm-9pm are pizza and pasta nights. Wood fired pizzas and house made sauce; they have some of your expected pies with a weekend special pizza as well.

I would give Huvar's 5 stars if they would bring back dinner service (They came back with Pizza Nights). It sounds petty, but their dinner service was the best fine dining to be had in Victoria! The quail was amazing!

Daily specials are creative, delicious, and priced well/competitively. Get there early to avoid the crowds seating both upstairs and downstairs available.

Excellent choice for lunch meetings if you go upstairs. Catering is available for your parties and events. One of the best and more upscale and "with the times" restaurants in Victoria. Local favorite is Chicken Fried Steak every Thursday and Fish...

I happened upon this place with a co-worker for a professional development lunch. It has deceptively more space than one would think, as there is an upstairs and a downstairs.

The upstairs seems to have a more formal vibe, and the downstairs has a more casual vibe. This is an assumption, because I only went up and checked it out and saw that upstairs tables were made of wood with table cloths, and downstairs tables were a mix of metal and wood.

They have daily brunch, lunch combos, and other seemingly tasty options. My coworker ordered a soup and salad, and I ordered the guacamole with tostadas and the ultimate plain grilled cheese sandwich.

We thought all of the food was very tasty! Didn't think to take pictures, but I wish I had.

My coworker also ordered chai tea, and she had options to choose soy milk whole milk or to have it sweetened or unsweetened.

Service was good. The ladies were attentive and not overbearing.

I really enjoy coming here for lunch. They have a variety of interesting options and the workers are always super nice! It does get a little busy during lunch time, but that's to be expected, especially downtown. Just be careful where you sit or bring a jacket because it can get chilly! It was super cold, but very refreshing because it's so gross outside right now. The only complaint I have is that the workers don't seem to be very good at anticipating when to give a table their check. It's a somewhat stupid thing to complain about, but it's just a little irritating when you have to get back to work and are waiting around to be able to give them your money. I am not the type of person to grab a worker and ask for the check while they're in the middle of something because it feels rude. Aside from that, everything is great and I highly recommend...
