Denny's — Restaurant in Victorville

So I really wanted to give this denny's a 5 star rating because their food was extremely delicious. Very good quality and I was impressed but their was a few mishaps. Now its not entirely the staff's fault because I'm sure that my situation was not an everyday thing for them. I take professional theater classes and every time we perform a show, we go to denny's to celebrate. We always go to the same denny's and we always have a great time. Now this time was a little frustrating. Usually we all go in and they seat us pretty easily. Now it wasn't particularly full that evening but they didn't want to seat us. They said that they weren't allowed to seat that many people without a reservation although nobody in any past visits had ever made reservations. Now we tried telling them but they took 10 minutes talking to the manager about it. Now once they agreed and we were all able to sit we ordered no problem. Now the service was amazing. They served our food in a understandable time considering our groups size and were very kind but then some issues occurred. Again we had always done this in the past and there were always people late who could just tell the check-in that their group was there. But even after we tried to explain the lady wouldn't budge and tried to say that we were just trying to get people in so they didn't have to wait. Now after the second time this happened the manager came over and apologized for the employees behavior and even recognized us from before. He said there was no need for what happened and even gave us free coupons. So overall it was a bit irritating and I'm not totally blaming the employees. I'm sure it's stressful handling a large crowd but they could have been more understanding and not so stubborn when we tried to explain it to...

If I could give it a 0 I would. I want to clarify this isn't the first time I've had a bad experience with this Dennys. The first was before the rona. Ok first off, walk inside and not even busy. Plenty of empty tables. Told me and my family to go back to our cars and wait??? So we do for 10 minutes. Goes back and checks, says there "still cleaning tables" even though there's 20 tables available. Go back to car. Waiter comes out to ask if we still want a table. Might as well so we go in. Its 9:09pm. We order. We get our drinks and desert. I was the only one to buy a meal, which is just a chicken sandwich. No tomatoes or pickles. Procedss to wait 15-20 minutes without any food. Keep in mind theres only 5-4 other family's in here it wasn't busy. They gave us the deserts, the girl didn't even bother to refill the coffee. Its now 9:40ish and Im finally about to get my sandwich, but before she makes it to the table she turns around cause they forget to takes off the tomatoes and pickles. Waits another 5 min. Finally get sandwich. And guess what....theres tomatoes on it. Like she had one stinking job. To get a order right. It was the chicken melt with the crispy hot chicken. And it was not crispy or hot at all. It was soggy. Didn't even bother finishing it. And when we went to pay and my father told him about how she never bother to check up on us he just laughed in our faces. Not even a sorry???? Like what the auctully heck. That was so rude.. Management needs to fire and retrain this Dennys employees. Shouldve known better to try this location again cause last time we were at a table for 30 minutes and no one came to us to order anything. We have been to this location a couple times however today are server Maria was absolutely exceptional I mean a true joy and her attention to detail was above and beyond the Call of Duty. I have difficulty digesting certain types of food and so whenever I order I have to ask questions and I'm one of those customers that most servers get irritated with however she was extremely patient and so friendly and smiling and I heard her go over to the chef and repeat my requests to him. She made sure that my food was prepared as I requested and was absolutely joyful in it I mean seriously it is so refreshing to come across someone in customer service that seems to enjoy their job. My food was really good and prepared exactly how I requested. I ordered the bourbon skillet with the chicken and had made various requests as to how it was cooked and it was just wonderful. My son ordered the chicken strip meal and his was really good. I hope the management of this location sees this review and that Maria will let them know the name of the chef who prepared my food and that they get recognition for excellent customer service and the cook truly did go out of his way to make sure my meal was the way I requested and honestly this is Denny's you know it's not the type of place where they take custom orders usually and he really did a great job and it meant a lot to me as I have a great difficulty eating out.
