Needed a spot and the hotels were selling it fast because of a highway shutdown just north of yermo. Price was ok for the bed. This place takes a cash deposit and when you check out, they will call housekeeping to inspect before they release the deposit. And I'm good with that. Upon entry into the room, it looked fine... But then 20 minutes in, I met a 3rd generation 🪳 crawling along the floor. I tucked the comforter into the foot of the bed so nothing would use that to crawl into the bed. Again, just me and my husband and we've been in 3rd world countries so, this was ok. I went into the bathroom and found another 3rd generation 🪳 above the toilet and a smashed 3rd gen 🪳 on the bathroom door. I was going to take a shower but let my husband take a shower, I took a sponge bath because there was a single packet (condom size packaging and only 1)of shampoo/conditioner. 1 Wash cloth and 1 towel. So, we had to decide how to share what we had, hence my sponge bath. We then had dinner and watched TV. Next to the TV was a picture where you could see 1st and 2nd generation 🪳 sitting on the frame watching us. 4th generation 🪳 we're seen running in and out of the picture... Pretty sure that was the breeding site. I did spray everything with Lysol and chased some out. I smacked a 🪳 that crawled out from under the painting and it fell to the floor. 2 more came out from under the mirror and I smacked them too. I left lights on because they don't really come out as much when it's lit. I finally fell asleep around 130am but was woken up around 3am by the occupants upstairs having a domestic dispute (now I understand why I've seen Victorville Police drive thru the property patrolling a few times while we were there) Running upstairs and slamming doors, dropping things to the floor, running back downstairs and yelling at each other outside my door. I understood that her phone was broke or she's call the cops, he said he didn't care if anyone called the cops... It was interesting but I was able to go to sleep knowing their noise was enough to keep the 🪳 away. Woke up and saw a couple 4th generation 🪳 climbing the walls. While leaving, we noticed a lot of water leaking from the swamp cooler under our wall. I'm assuming that is what's causing the roaches to breed and enter the room. I'm also assuming that there's not a sense of urgency to properly treat the roach infestation because the owners are Indian or Sri Lanka and possibly Hindi or Buddhist and explains why they won't kill the 🪳. It's a cultural or religious thing. Otherwise, they need to bomb, come back 2 weeks later and bomb again to kill the eggs that are hatching. You get what you pay for.... I have literally stayed in worse but glad that we didn't have any luggage and only the clothes on our back for this stay, i'd be scared to bring something home with us otherwise. I was worried more about possibility of bed bugs but didn't see any. I won't stay here again but will post photos and a quick video...
Read moreI had to take the time to write this review because I normally don't review hotels because they are all at least decent quality. I did not know the area, and booked this hotel solely based on the fact that it was the lowest priced place I could find on such short notice. Which turned out to be a huge mistake. I caution anyone not from this area to know what you are getting when you book this hotel. The front lobby is the only thing that was nice about it. First off, they advertise that they have WiFi, they DO NOT. Which was the first HUGE inconvenience. I asked for the password and they said they were currently fixing the Wi-Fi. But I looked on past reviews from weeks ago and they said the same thing. I stayed there for almost 2 weeks and had no Wi-Fi the entire time. Then when it got hot during the day, come to find out, my AC didn't work in the unit I was in. I told the front desk at 9am they said they would send maintenance to fix it. At 1130 I called back and asked when maintenance would come because I had things to do during the day and didn't want them in my room when I wasn't there. They told me within the hour. Waited till 2pm and called back and they said that they work on things as they are reported, so my issue was on the list to take care of. Couldn't tell me when they would come. I asked if I could just switch rooms then. They said, not until maintenance comes in and signs off that it's not working, then they could move me to another unit. I waited until the next day, maintenance had still not shown up. The next morning I practically had to beg the front desk to please switch me to a different room. They finally did. Only to find out that the 2nd unit AC did not work either. They said those were the only 2 rooms avail that day. The second room had a bed with a huge divot in one side of it. Like someone 500lbs had slept on it for a month straight. Not to mention the fact that the entire front wall of the room is made of glass. So the entire day and most of the night I was able to hear very clearly the numerous kids screaming and yelling right outside my room. At night was even worse. I was kept up by multiple adults fighting, screaming and arguing, sometimes until 3am. There were always very sketchy people walking around and sleeping in cars parked out front. The TV must be satellite based because the signal would constantly go in and out, messing with the picture quality. Water temp for the shower was a hit or miss and would get blasted with cold water out of nowhere. That was if I was able to get the knobs to work to even turn the shower on in the first place. Trust me, if I was able to leave and get a refund, I would have. But surprise surprise, the stay was non refundable, There's absolutely nothing good that I can say about this place other than the price was cheap. And I would normally say that you get what you pay for. But what I got was worth way less than what I paid for. DO NOT book this hotel. You will regret every...
Read moreWhat an absolute dump of a hotel. Walked through the front door greeted by a velvet wasteland of gaudy furniture and fake crystal chandeliers.
The check-in was easy enough, but it was a trek to get to my room. Without a car I had to walk two buildings down to get to my room. Inside, I found a stinky, musty pit that reeked of cigarettes and filled with the used furnishings of hotels long gone. The door didn’t latch properly, there was a hole in the ceiling, plaster was peeling off the walls, and there were cigarette burns in the bed linens. This is not a place I was going to stay for the night.
So back to the desk I go, with all of my belongings in my suitcase behind me. Walking by a number of homeless and shady characters who happened to snag a room for the night, and one homeless woman dragging her belongings in a black trash bag up the stairs.
Come to find out. Even through I booked a non-smoking room on Expedia, this hotel placed me in a smoking room. Mind you, I am not the only person this has happened to. Looking at past reviews of this place...it has happened to others as well, but I blew it off as a mistake. Apparently, this seems to be a pretty common mistake. I ask for a refund, but in order for that to be possible I had to try another room. Sure, so I grab my key and walk back through the complex to my next room. Swipe the key...nothing. I swipe it again...nothing. The door handle is broken on this “new” room as well.
After a complaint to Expedia, having them call the hotel, and being on the desk clerks back for and hour I finally got my refund. The cherry on top of it all is that when I finally got my Uber out of there, my driver picked me up with a concerned look on her face, dropped me off at the Holiday Inn nearby, turned around and said, “Look, don’t go walking around here after dark.”
If this place could get zero stars, it would certainly deserve it.
P.S. I have attached one photo of the room. I should have taken more, but I was not in the mood to be sticking around for long. Notice how “expertly” the washer has been fitted with cabinet. This is...
