Driving up to this place, you can tell that it will be a little different. The restaurant is an old gas station. We walked in and were greeted by 2 friendly girls, who seemed to be having a great time working there. After asking them about different menu items and discussing options, we decided on 1st, the original scooby snack with brisket, fully loaded, then a plate of brisket, ribs, fried corn & Brunswick stew, plus some sweet tea to wash everything down. While the Mac and cheese is a personal favorite, we were told that some times its out of this world good and sometimes it was ok, it appeared that it wasn't an out of this world day, so we passed on that, for now. Let's start with the tea, it was tasty and refreshing, nothing out of the ordinary or unexpected, but good. Next was the Brunswick stew, it was good, had great flavor and filling. Moving on to the fried corn, this was interesting, something I've never had before, I'd highly recommend trying it. The brisket and ribs came next, both were incredible tender and juicy, cooked well. I like a little more spice, but the flavor was still good. Next was the star of the show, what would have been my drunken go-to (if I had been drinking prior to trying it), the Original Scooby snack with brisket - all the way. I really enjoyed it. This is a full order of French fries, covered with cheese, sour cream, brisket, jalapenos, onions, olives & I added aittke sauce to it. This was so good, I will be ordering it each time I go back. This was easily my favorite thing there. Go here, try the scooby snacks, say...

Update: Went to Papa Buck's in Metter. Food and service was good. Spoke with the owner and head waitress. Very nice people. Concerned with how the customer feels. I explained why I gave the review and discussed some of the issues. I will definitely give them another try in Vidalia. Thought it was an eat-in restaurant. Walked in. Two girls behind counter. One girl wiping tables. No greeting. No "wait to be seated" sign. Three tables filled. We chose a table and waited. Nothing! Three people working but no one has spoken to us. Finally, we asked the girl who was wiping tables. Order at counter. Fast-food BBQ. Ribs (3) were really good. The rest not so good. Brunswick stew was so sweet, it should have been listed as dessert. Potato salad tasted sour. You get about half a cup of each. Husband or I could not eat either. Really not...

VERY POOR! The “manager” is rude . I called after being hung up on and asked for the manager she said “okay hold on” then the same girl came back on the line saying “Umm this is the manager” she refused to let me place an order for 10 minutes! It was not registering with her that I wanted to place a spraye order because there was not a sauce option on the app. She came on the line and said “ oh we don’t have ribs for your orders” … so they weren’t going to contact me that the $50 order I placed they were out of the MAIN PORTION ???? very unprofessional. Again it took me 10 mins for her to accept me wanting to place an order and all I wanted was a separate order of extra sauces for my door dash order because the option was not given on the app. Here’s a diagram so you...

Great BBQ pulled pork plate. The pork was moist and looked appetizing, and even better on the tongue. Their Signature sauce was nice and tangy. The Sweet and Smokey was definitely tasty and I tried both equally. Signature won out in the end 🤟. The sides I chose were green beans and brunswick stew. The greens were bland, I assume on purpose so we can add salt/pepper to our taste. The brunswick stew is chunkier than I like but still passed the taste test. I would definitely eat here the next time we're through. Oh... and as we were leaving my lovely lady noticed that a band I worked with many years ago (the Fly Me Courageous album) had been there recently and posted there own "Signature" review of Papa Buck's on the bulletin board. Check out the pic for Kevin Kinney's comment :)
