The food. The service. Exquisite. Highly recommend. And go with a friend. This is an experience worth sharing.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with super friendly people that allowed us to sit at the kitchen seating, which is on a first come first serve basis.
We started with a custom-made drink by the friendliest of bartenders. I chose a Lemon Bread, which was made with Mularkey lemon whiskey, Templeton rye whiskey, orgeat, egg whites, spices and citrus. A dessert to start the meal.
We selected the tasting menu which provided four courses and offered a wine or whiskey pairing for an additional $75.
Before the meal started, we were served with bread and dipping oil, and gluten-free bread was available and delicious. We were then given a special treat by the Chef, a tuna tartare paired with a butternut squash soup - a delectable sample. From the moment it hit our pallets, the food tasted fresh and flavorful.
The Chef personally greeted us and shared that the tasting menu changes each week. On this night, we were given beautiful dishes to look at, flavorful to taste, and plentiful. We did not leave hungry.
The first course was a flesh seared Hawaiian Kampachi, served with a cucumber fennel salad, and pickled radish. This dish was light and flavorful, and a perfect way to start the evening.
The second course was a crisp Mediterranean Branzino fillet with carrot, purée, black lentils, and dusted with potato chips. The fish was perfectly cooked and the blending of different flavors tasted amazing.
The third course was two thick slices of Servena Venison served on a broccoli, purée, chanterelle mushroom, yellow, baby squash, and green lentil garnished plate. The addition of pistachios on this plate really brought everything together. I was so full but I didn’t want to leave any of the meal left.
And finally, the final course of dessert was hearty crème brûlée with a Kahlúa ice cream, served with a GF chocolate cookie and toasted marshmallow.
The staff was so attentive. And the bartender even came back over to hug us farewell. Other than waiting almost 30 minutes to get the check and pay, everything else was right on point. Heaven would be… being able to eat this meal everyday. I will absolutely be back for dinner soon. Thanks to the chef and staff for such a...
Read moreI spent a lot of time thinking about this review, and considering my rating with my partner. I think it is important in evaluating a restaurant and giving a review you evaluate it against its peers. A 5 star experience at a very good local restaurant is markedly different than a 5 star experience at a Michelin quality restaurant - but they are both 5 stars within their class.
With that in mind, I give Clarity the 5 star rating. We had a delicious meal, which was carefully prepared and beautifully plated. We chose the tasting menu for our first experience, and the courses were nicely sized and well varied. I chose the wine pairings, which were beautiful with the meal. The wait staff was kind and welcoming, if a little bit off kilter. It seemed there was some left-hand right hand things going on and we were not given the details of our plates consistently. However, they more than made up for it with kind attention and ensuring we were comfortable. There is no snootiness here. I'm sure we have all had fine dining experiences that weren't comfortable because the staff leaves you feeling unworthy. This restaurant evokes the feeling of going to a family or friend's house and them carefully preparing an exquisite meal.
Some things that make Clarity special that I'd like to point out:
They give a very generous military discount - %20. This is extraordinarily kind and appreciated.
They change their menu daily. Yes - daily. This may lead to a little bit of bumbling around with which menu is the right one, or which dishes are or aren't available, however, this is the kind of restaurant you could go to regularly and have a completely different experience.
The meats were very carefully and beautifully prepared. I don't eat a lot of meat, and when I do, I want to make sure it is worth it. This is definitely such an experience.
I believe this restaurant is a great value. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get.
They accommodate any food allergies with patience and ease. There is something for everyone here.
I highly recommend a visit to Clarity. You will find something you really like, and you will be pleased with how reasonable...
Read moreI came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday after reading so many excellent reviews. We got dressed up and upon arrival, the hostess asked if we were celebrating anything to which I responded my husband’s birthday. We decided to sit near the kitchen to get in on the behind-the-scenes action.
Our first impression was that the kitchen was very clean and the chefs knew what they were doing. We were greeted by our server who wished my husband a good birthday and everything things started off well. However as the night progressed, we became less impressed with service. There were not many patrons for a Sunday evening and many times I saw our server chatting with his colleagues or simply disappearing. It took a very long time get our orders and we had to ask for our water to be refilled. As we got our entree, we also had to ask for steak knives. The food was great, but I would not get the foie gras again (very tiny portion and very overpriced, $32). Because we were quite hungry, we ordered 3 appetizers, a drink, two entrees and split a dessert. The total was approximately $250 and tip included was beyond $300. The food has flavor, and the presentation is terrific but if you have a larger appetite I would choose another location as it can get very pricey very quickly- for example their crafted cocktails start at $20. I highly recommend the oysters, we enjoyed that most during our dinner. I got the 48 hour sous vide prime rib and my husband got the Australian wagyu skirt steak with foie gras emulsion. We thought both entrees were good, but not worth the high prices.
We were looking for great service, and exceptional food, with a romantic ambience and this was not it for us. The ambiance may have been more romantic in the dining room instead of the kitchen seating, so perhaps you can avoid that. Near the end of dinner, I was hoping that they would light a candle on a dessert for my husbands’s birthday, but that was not offered. We ended up getting the crème brûlée, which was delicious, but we both agreed that the food did not match environment. Unfortunately Clarity fell short of our expectations and comes with too high of a price tag for...
