My entire family can’t get enough of this place. While my Mom and Dad love going there for tea and fried snacks/sweets (it’s a brown thing to want those things at random parts of the day), we all greatly enjoy going for dinner to experience dishes like the lamb biryani. The environment is unpretentious and conducive to comfortable South Indian dining. Staff and management are phenomenal, last night the manager comped us 2 cups of tea and 2 servings of gulab jamun (Indian fried batter doused in sugar syrup) purely out of the kindness of his heart. Everyone we go, we are astounded by how enjoyable our time is there. Even the simple things like naan and yellow/tadka daal they do impeccably. Aditi is definitely worth 30 minute trek we make from Foggy Bottom. Prices are very reasonable and makes you question why you do Indian “fine-dining”. All in all, the combination of delicious food and amazing service/cordiality of the staff is what makes this establishment solid. Keep up the...
Read moreI grew up around Suku, when he was a waiter. He was the nicest guy and really fun. We ate the same food with and around each other for years. I started eating food from his, then, boss and the Maharaja and Tandoor chain (1974) before Suku arrived and after. Suku knows what he is doing and his Crepe place is the BOMB!! I love Crepes and he did good by those as well as when he first opened Aditi in Georgetown DC. I would go there often but couldn't as much when he moved in to Vienna. i always go by to see him but haven't been able to catch up with him of late. But you should. If you are ever in Vienna and want some outrageous crepes or food, this is definitely the place to eat!! All the best to you and yours...
Read moreThis place is right next to an Indian grocery store, in fact, it is connected.
So, it is but natural for them to simply heat and serve the food that’s easily available in the frozen section of the grocery store. One star for putting in the effort of sautéing the frozen veggies well but in the name of sabji, that’s the last thing you would expect at an Indian restaurant.
If you look at photo of chapathi, it’s clear that it was the frozen one, that too it wasn’t warmed well because the Tava was not hot enough when they began to put on it.
Save yourself the money and disappointment by simply taking the food from frozen section and heating it on your own because you’ll do a better job than...
