My family and I went yesterday 6/11/23 because this place was suggested to us to eat. We got there and was met with a loud, aggressive, quick moving woman serving people but she was a bit aggressive and talking all over my family and was off putting. When a customer came in while we were putting in our order the worker didn't have sense enough to ask the person to step to the side and she would help her, she was just rude talking all in front of me and yelling, so I had to ask the lady to step around me and order from the side. RUDE is and understatement for what this lady was. She needs some training in human relations. I started to walk out the door and now I wish we did. The food was not what we expected at all. We spent $76 dollars and threw away most of the food. What I ate off my plate was the chicken alone, it was awesome! Everything else went into the trash. We threw away mashed potatoes, mac, yams, greens, country fried steak, rice, dressing, cornbread from all of the plates. The mac was runny, the potatoes tasted like boxed potatoes, the greens were out of the can, my daughter hated her yams, my son did not eat the country fried steak, greens, mac, or cornbread he said it was flavorless, and my husband ate the turkey wings but said they were bland. To each its own, however this is my honest review and everyone has different taste buds. I came home and cooked after eating there. The disappointment is that service was not great and the food was not great either. Based on the negative reviews I see on here I am sure there will be no accountability taken, however you can't change how we experienced this place. I truly wish I had come here to read the reviews before going, so this is why I am leaving my honest review. UPDATE. 7/01/2023 WE DID NOT EAT ALL OF OUR FOOD AND I KNEW THAT THIS LADY WHO COMES ON AND GETS DEFENSIVE WOULD LIE AND TAKE NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR OUR EXPERIENCE THERE. YOU MY DEAR IS THE ONE WHO IS SPECIAL BECAUSE YOU CAN'T HANDLE HONEST FEEDBACK WITHOUT GETTING DEFENSIVE. I stand by what I said and it was truly my experience...
Read moreI looked on Google to find a Good Soul Food Resturant. This Place popped up. It was 24 mins away from me. It was Sooo Worth the drive. 1st when I went in I was a Little mad they Only had Certain Sides on Certain days. I had my mouth set for some Corn.... lol I Decided to Try the Greens and Sweet Potatoes as a side. I Dont like Everybodys Greens But I said too myself let me Try them. Sooo Glad I did. They were Seasoned so good. I Never had that Seasoning in Greens before. It was so good. The Sweet potatoes were real. They weren't Can like most places give you. I am really not a cornbread person. But when I say they hot water Corn Muffin was so on point! Oh wait I forgot to tell you About the Chicken. It was Seasoned so good. And the Chicken taste like High Quality Chicken not that fake chicken being served at Many Restaurants! So Glad me and my Honey tried this place on Valentines day...lol We usually always go to Very Expensive restaurants. This Resturant is a Hidden Gem! And The Customer Service was Excellent! They Spoke to Everyone who Came in! Oh and they Are Black Owned. Thanks so Much for the Great food. It made my day!

Read moreAVOID THIS RESTAURANT. I am fed up with this subpar establishment. The owner is rude and berates her staff as if they were children. She is anything but polite and became furious when she saw a worker serving a generous portion, insisting they scale it back.
Over the past six months, the portions have consistently decreased. When I asked a worker why my plate looked so small, she admitted that the owner demanded they reduce the amount.
Additionally, a lunch special should offer the same meal at a different price, but here it’s just one meat and one vegetable, served in small portions. It’s absurd. Save yourself the trouble and visit This Is It in Douglasville or Golden Corral, where you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat experience at a similar price.
And before the owner responds with excuses, know that I was a loyal customer for four years (because I support black businesses) and because there are no other soul food options in the city besides “Trading Post”, which has rats. Two restaurants. Take your pick. You either SETTLE or drive to Douglasville, which is only 15...
