Mimi's Coffee House — Restaurant in Village/Town of Mount Kisco

Let me start off by saying the food is great, the place is a little vibe until today. I was sitting outside with a few friends and the children we watch. We ordered food at 1:00 pm to be exact and received our food around 1:20pm we sat outside considering it was a beautiful day with our drinks we previously purchased at Starbucks set up the kids food and our food. It was all going well the staff even opened the umbrella for us because the sun was nice but very strong for the kiddos. Around 1:50pm one of the workers or the owner I must say ( because I heard someone call her Mimi) closed the umbrella on us without saying anything almost hits one of the kids in the head as she was closing it. Keep in mind these are all one year old babies in strollers. Doesn’t say anything to us instead tells another customer we probably didn’t buy anything there and we’re sitting there. First of all we have a mouth to speak . Instead of being rude and disrespectful she could have simply asked a question. If she would have checked with her employees she would have known we come there often and buy food with the kids. Never have I ever felt that disrespected at a place yet alone with young children. Will give her zero stars if I can for the unprofessionalism. Mimi you need to learn how to speak to your customers instead of being rude it’s part of the customer service to run a business. The other staff is amazing but the owner needs to learn how to use her words and not close the umbrella on people’s heads and talk as if they cannot hear her. Especially not when there are children involved shows how you are not a child...

Rudeness to a whole new degree I hardly ever, if at all, write reviews unless I am moved emotionally to do so. Unfortunately, I was so DISAPPOINTED with this small business establishment that I couldn't help but to express my utter disgust with the way my sister, mom and I were treated at Mimi's coffee shop in Mt. Kisco. The owner came outside to scold my family and I for sitting in her patio area even though there was only 15 minutes left before they were to close their shop. Mind you, the only reason we had sat down was because we had to feed my 7 month year old nephew. But, she didn't care to come over, ask us how we were doing or if we needed anything. Instead, she went on a rant about how she paid for the patio area and that since we weren't customers we weren't invited to sit there. Even now as I write this I have this pain in my heart and this sick feeling in my stomach. I have NEVER experienced this kind of rudeness at any restaurant before now. I keep asking myself how can this RUDENESS rule over kindness and understanding, especially during these difficult times?! After this experience, I will certainly NEVER go back to this coffee shop and I encourage you to seek out a different coffee shop - one that radiates kindness instead...

Had a recommendation for this place so decided to try it out. Absolutely loved it! Started coming regularly until I had an incident with one of the baristas. I guess she misheard me when I ordered and when she gave me the drink I kindly stated that this wasn’t what I ordered. Immediately her kind energy was gone. In place was the most aggressive just plain mean energy I’ve felt EVER. Gave me the ugliest look and then asked me what I wanted so I told her and she made it for me and basically slammed it on the counter. I was polite and said thank you and as soon as I turned my back she started talking about me to another customer. I immediately turned around and said you could be a lot nice yknow, this is a coffee shop and things like this can happen. It’s not a big deal and you don’t need to be so hateful. And she just started yelling at me about how my money is more important than this shop and whatnot. Just mean. I was really upset walking out of there and haven’t been back since. Will never go back. So mean for no reason. And got a customer involved in attacking me at the register, because the customer started saying stuff to me too. Horrible experience, unfortunate for such a cute and...
