Food was very delicious, service was great, & the atmosphere was cute and comfortable. For the price point, this place is definitely worth it. Will be back again! -Edited 3/7/25- After the first visit, I became a huge fan of La Tavola. I visited many times in between my initial review up until now, but this evening will, unfortunately, be my last visit ever. The night began at 7:30 with the waitress giving our party of 5’s reserved table away, to which we had to pull a chair up to a 4-top. Whatever. Then the service was incredibly slow, despite it being a slow night. Once the food began coming out, 4 out of our 5 eventually got their dinner, but for 30 minutes the 5th member was left with nothing. It is now 8:20, and everyone is finished with their meals except him who never got his. We figured they forgot his order and waited for someone to come by… 10 minutes later we flagged the waitress over and said, “Hey, we’re wondering where his food is”, to which she snapped and said, “We didn’t forget about him, it’s coming”. Which was very untrue, as we saw his exact order being thrown in the oven just minutes prior. 8:40 he finally received his meal. No apology was ever offered, nothing was comped, and there was no free dessert offered for the inconvenience. I am absolutely appalled by the attitude and nonchalance from the waitress.

First visit: Food is delicious! We had the caprese salad, lasagna di carne, lasagna rolls, and arancini. Everything tastes very fresh. I didn’t love the arancini but everything else was good. Prices are reasonable. Our inside 2-top table was too small for all of the items we ordered, was also very close to the other tables so servers kept brushing up against the back of my chair. Loved that they serve lemonade with fresh strawberries in it. That was a nice touch. This is one of our new fav spots in Pewaukee. We will be back. Second visit: we had a table outside. Great view but the patio chairs are a little uncomfortable. We ordered bruschetta, lasagna di carne, a veggie pizza with sausage, tiramisu, and chocolate cake. Our server was just ok this time, she didn’t introduce herself or greet us.. just said “what can I get you?” This time my lemonade was served in a Stella beer glass which was weird to me (and no strawberries). Lasagna di carne was great- very flavorful. The bruschetta would have been better with fresh mozzarella or burrata instead of shaved parm, it was lacking a bit. My husband said his pizza was tasty but undercooked in the middle. Dessert was delicious. I love the tiramisu. Overall we still like this place and will be back in the future.

Food was okay, good portions for the price on the lakefront. A little disappointed in the flavor profile and wine selection. Service was good - again nothing to set the experience apart, but not bad by any means. Biggest thing was ambiance. We went out for date night and it just wasn’t the vibe. Chairs were uncomfortable (but fricken cute), one of the knives (that still have the ikea emblem on them) was leaking water from the handle as we tried to cut with it. Two-top tables are tiny for a small-plate style. Overall we won’t be going out of our way to go back BUT it’s not a bad restaurant. Just not there yet.

This was our first time eating here. We ordered vodka on the rocks and were charged $3 for ice-who charges $3 for ICE?? We ordered the beef carpaccio which was not good. The beef was far too thick-(not anywhere near “paper thin”)not at all what you would expect or how it was described on the menu. The Caesar salad was decent, but store bought croutons were a disappointment. The best part of our meal was the ravioli-it was tasty and fresh. However the chicken parm was disappointing as well-it was not pounded thin at all just a piece of roasted chicken thigh covered in cheese and sauce. We were looking forward to a nice Italian restaurant in Pewaukee this missed the mark in...
