El Charro Authentic Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Village of Weston

Service was great, food was okay. My husband and I felt like it was lacking in flavor, but I believe my inlaws enjoyed it. Horchatas were okay, fajita taco salad was like they just warmed up the peppers and onions. Fajita sampler had seasonings but it was all rather muted- the shrimp was good.

Chips and salsa were served, not warm but they were still good. Everyone agrees the salsa was really good.

But service was absolutely wonderful- had an allergic reaction to something with the shrimp (we think it was the type of shrimp) and they did their best to help us try to figure out if it was a seasoning or something so it can be avoided in the future. Not bad, but not great in my opinion. I usually stop in for Mexican food when I travel up North. I ordered the Chile Colorado. In the south it's made with square chunks of pork and kinda spicy. Here is was what looked like leftover cuts of beef strips about an inch long. No spice at all. So It was completely different from what I'm used to. Not saying it was bad, just saying I wouldn't order it again. My waiter was okay. He came by once for a refill on my tea and once for my check. The restaurant itself is clean and pretty nice. Just recently stopped in for dinner with my partner and his parents. We looked at the menu online before going and were so excited to see the range of vegetarian options! SO MANY VEGETABLES. I was so impressed. Every other Mexican restaurant in the area charges you the same price as a meat dish and only gives you beans and ice berg lettuce. This food is the real deal. Salsa is spicy and delicious. Just the right amount of food for dinner and possibly leftovers. Prices are just what you should be paying for what you get! Can't say enough positive things.
