Chavas Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Vincennes

My friend and I went in today around 12:45 and experienced extremely slow service right from the start after we sat down we had to wait about 20 minutes( I had to signal someone to come over)to get our drink orders then had to wait another 20 minutes for them to see us to order our food. During this time we had to ask for refills on chips and salsa twice and drinks. I could of bought an egg, hatched it, raised a chicken, processed and cooked it before all before we got our food. This was a truly disappointing experience.(especially since we were in lunch from our work) all in all We got in at 12:45 and got out at 1:50pm, and they weren’t very busy. Chavas is a great place to get customizable burritos and taco salads. It's similar to Chipotle, but there are more options for ingredients, such as refried beans, black olives, onions, salsas without onions, cilantro. I actually like Chavas better than Chipotle because of the variety of ingredients, and it's more authentic.

The people who work at Chavas are nice, friendly, and helpful. Also, they are the only place around with tortas (tasty Mexican sandwiches), but make sure to call ahead to see if they can make tortas because they can't always get the bread from...

We went to the Chava’s bar and grill on North 6th street in Vincennes. The restaurant was exceptionally clean with a good decor including unique leather chairs. The service was great. Our waiter never hovered yet kept our drinks filled (they have a delicious margarita). The menu is 5 pages of typical American Mexican fare. The ingredients were fresh and tasted good. The beer is served by the bottle with an icy glass. Unlike a lot of restaurants, when you order another beer, you get a fresh icy glass.
