Down Home Creamery - Vinton — Restaurant in Vinton

We just moved to vinton, and were excited to have a special treat to celebrate a family success. My young daughter went into order for us with her sister. I sat on the bench outside with my service animal. When she came out she was upset. She felt rushed and was made very uncomfortable by both staff and other customers. As it was very busy, i understand needing to place order and move on to the next person. However, i believe she deserved to be treated with more respect than she was given. We will be back to give it another try. The ice cream was awesome, and it seemed to be a really nice social place for the community to meet up. On our next visit i plan to go into order with my service dog, because she doesnt want to go inside after her experience. Thanks for the special treat down...

My wife and I visited for the first time and only a couple of other peope so no wait. There were two girls behind the counter and one took care of my wife who ordered one scoop. The other girl did my two scoop order. My two scoop did not even go above the rim of the paper cup. Very very tiny and not even a good one scoop. My wife one scoop was overflowing and big. When I pointed it out and said if she will not add more please only change for one scoop. She did not like that and gave me looks. I was nice the whole time and did not deserve the attitude. On a side note the man after me also got a tiny scoop. I left disappointed and will go elsewhere...

We love the ambience of this place along with the appreciation of the employees working there. We like Down Home Creamery so much that we quit buying ice cream from the supermarket and stop at Down Home Creamery anytime we wish for ice cream; it just seems to taste better! As well, the shop is always clean and do we do not have to worry about a disgusting restroom to contend with.
