La Casa Del Burrito Taco Shop — Restaurant in Vinton

First time coming. Seen this on the news and was excited to try this place out. We walk in, the guy who was taking orders didnt say anything to us. No, seat yourself, I'll be with you. Nothing. Nobody came to us. I went to the desk and he handed me two menus, I asked for a high chair. We're staring at the menu's, nobody comes to explain, tell us how things worked there, how to order or anything. After 10 minutes. I went to the desk explained this was our first time here and was trying to figure everything out. I recieved, oh your good. From the guy at the counter. So I went ahead and order what I usually would at a mexican restaurant. Due to lack of help from staff. Came back to sit thinking we would recieve chips and dip also. I went back to the counter, was told that's paid for also and we have to ask for it. So what I'm getting at. If your gonna post on the news of this new business, have staff that wants to help the new customers, greets the customers, explain how things work. Not have customers looking around waiting for what wed usually get from any other restaurant. The food was great though. Nothing lacking there. I came here hoping to support a local Mexican spot, but honestly, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and it wasn’t the food. As a Mexican American, I love seeing our culture represented through food, but the way the girls at the register treated me was embarrassing. They had nasty attitudes, handed things to me like I was bothering them, and couldn’t even be bothered to say “thank you” or make eye contact.

It’s not even about being overly friendly…I get it, not everyone’s a people person but there’s a difference between being quiet and being disrespectful. It felt like I was being dismissed just for ordering.

The food might be decent, but I can’t support a place that treats customers like this. If you’re going to represent Mexican food and culture, at least show some of the warmth and hospitality that our people are known for. I won’t be back unless the service...

The only reason I give this 5 stars is there isn't an option for 105! This place is AMAZING!!!! The staff is WONDERFUL, and the food is just to die for. We have searched everywhere since visiting San Diego in 2009 for a Carne asda Burrito, with no luck. The search is over!!! We now have no reason to visit San Diego because the food at this place is GREAT! This is really what a burrito is supposed to taste like! We also had the tacos, and brought an order of rolled tacos home because we were to full to eat them there. We will be returning on a regular basis, this will be our new go to restaurant from now on. No more "Where would you like to go"? We are even considering moving closer so we can just walk there once or twice a day! If you haven't tried it, check it out, you will be returning!
