This Las Palmas 4 recently opened. For those of you that have been around a while here, this location used to be an El Pollo Loco. After some time, they went out and became a Burger King. Burger King went out during the pandemic and it is now Las Palmas 4. This place is located just off of Upton Drive. You can only access this place when heading south along the roadway. If you are coming from a different direction, you can enter from Elson Green Ave. or Princess Anne Rd. I have visited this place several times now, with my most recent visit being on June 12, 2021. My first visit here was on May 29, 2021. The timing was between lunch and dinner times. It was busy, but not overly busy. Once we came in, we saw a few of the ones there that we know from their other locations in the area. We were immediately seated, someone came over and brought the chips, white sauce and salsa. Shortly after our server came to the table. The menu is the same as the other locations, so we pretty much knew what we were getting at that time. We did start with a small queso as an appetizer. For the entrée, I went with the Burrito California with chicken and no rice. My mom went with the Burrito Grande with beef and no rice. In a little under 10 minutes, our orders came to the table. The burritos looked really good and hot. In true fashion, after I dug in, it was just as good as I know from their other locations. The difference is this location is the closest one to me now. Fast forward a few weeks. My most recent visit here was on June 12, 2021. I had some other stuff earlier in the day, so I wasn't as hungry, but my mom still wanted to come too. It worked out for me as I ended up going with the large fresh made guacamole done at your table. My mom went with the Burrito Grande with beef again. This visit was very similar to the first visit. The food was good once again as expected. I thought I'd have some guacamole left over to take home, but it was so good I finished it all there. On the first visit, because the place had recently opened, they didn't have Wi-Fi available yet. By the time I came back in this most recent visit, Wi-Fi was now available. It is a locked network, so the password was needed for it. Our server this time didn't tell us what it was, but we could go up to the counter to get it, so I ended up doing that. Other than that weird experience, overall I have had some great experiences and food here. There are lots of options to choose from on the menu, so if you're in the Red Mill area of Virginia Beach and looking for a Mexican place, this is a solid place to come and visit.

After a year of living in Virginia, I finally found a really great Mexican restaurant. I've been to many since relocating from Texas. This place is great. Love their salsa & queso. The only suggestion I'd make for improvement is to get a bigger bowl for the queso. Not enough in the bowl it comes in, lol. Chicken fajitas are great. Kid's burgers are huge, and fries are plenty. Chicken strips are awesome. My kids say this is their pick from now on when we're looking to eat Mexican. We will definitely go back & next time, I'll take pictures & add a fresh review. I want to try their nachos next. This place actually tasted like Mexican food. Plenty of flavor. Update, went again last weekend. Loved it. Trimmed different items & they were great. Here's some photos. The food taste as good as it looked & the service is above par. Great staff. The kids menu items are great. The kids still request this place when considering Mexican food. This one is located on Upton in Virginia Beach. Our favorite go to for Mexican. The dips are awesome. The prices are great. All five of us eat for $58 to $70 depending on what we order.

This is a tough one because we absolutely loved the location, loved the vibe and the decoration, and the people working there were very friendly. Our biggest problem was that about half of our orders were wrong. Now they were very quick to get them corrected and I know we had a large group, but it was quite a lot of our orders. Plus one of our orders had chicken that was not cooked all the way through and had to be sent back. Again, they took it right away and fixed it. But the fact that the chicken wasn't cooked through is a problem. And they also did not take anything off the bill because of these problems. But it is a great place. I absolutely loved the tableside guacamole that they did. The menu was so big and had so many options. And the drinks were wonderful and HUGE!!

I wish more people would take the time to really review this place and stop trying to be nice and sugarcoat the facts. This place was horrible and I should have listened to the negative reviews that were apparently the honest ones. I ordered take out and was quoted 7:03pm as a pick up....I didn't get the food until 45 minutes later. I was not greeted at all upon entry. There are two rude younger girls that work the front, they do not belong at the front and made a bad first impression. After a male worker had asked my name for the 4th time, I see one of the girls from the front (she has long, unbrushed hair nor pulled back and very fake looking fake eyelashes) carry out a food bag with ice cream in it. Mind you, I had only one special request and that was for the ice cream to be bagged separately from hot items. That's not difficult, you can bag it with the cold salsa and dip. Well, she goes right past me and proceeds to flirt with some guy who was hanging around the restaurant in a filthy ripped t-shirt looking like a walking health code violation. She's swinging the food bag the whole time she's flirting with the guy. I try to get her attention and say, "excuse me" and she brushes right past me. The male worker comes around again, asks my name along with the other takeout people...this is about the 5th time he does. Another 10 minutes goes by and the other rude front girl with thick, dark rimmed glasses brings the same bag out from earlier. She never calls out the name, the other girl did not either, obviously. I ask if that's my food and she looks at the name and figures out it is. At this point, she saw the ice cream had completely melted and was getting on the other food items but still, shoves the bag at me. I say, "the ice cream was supposed to have been bagged separately and its completely melted now." (Receipt says bag separate, see photo). She literally rolls her eyes at me and goes to get a plastic bag. Then, takes the dripping mess and shoves that into that bag and thrusts the food bag at me, "here" she says. At this point, I'm about tired of her nasty attitude and want the manager but I simply ask if a new ice cream could be given. I even offer the other melted nasty stuff back, to show I wasn't trying to get any extra food, I just wanted it to look like Mexican fried ice cream, not milk soup when I brought it to the person waiting for an hour. She once again rolls her eyes and takes it. They give me a scoop of ice cream with raw corn flaks (see photo) and never said have a nice day, thank you, nothing. If that wasn't already irritating in thr restaurant, I get back to a mess of ice cream that had indeed melted over my other containers. The leaked milk went through the chip back to the point that there wasn't a bag at the bottom corner. It was a sticky mess that could have easily been avoided. The food itself didn't make up for the bad service. It was extremely bland, no spice that I've ever associated with good Mexican food. The lettuce was brown and wilted (see photo). The cheese fries were disgusting, soggy, cold and didn't even fill up the container (see photo). The chips tasted reheated and hard, plus several of ours had mush from thr ice cream spill. The salsa was packaged tasting, same with the expensive " fresh made" guacamole. This place was not cheaper than other Mexican restaurants in the area, so why would anyone go there for lack luster service and...
