Beijing Palace — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Listen, it's Fat Girl Friday at work, so naturally, I went all out in true big-back fashion. I ordered Mongolian Beef with rice, Veg Lo Mein, and the Dim Sum wontons in chili oil, and let me tell you—it was BUSSIN.'

These legends in the kitchen aren’t skimping on anything—meat? Plenty. Vegetables? Fresh. Flavor? Explosive. Once I opened up that take-out container I inhaled my food like I was preparing for hibernation.

I even managed to sneak a few bites of my coworker’s Singapore Noodles, Crab Rangoon, and Lumpia while still shoveling down my own food. Sharing may be caring, but let’s be honest—it’s mostly strategy. All of it? 10/10. Would eat here again.

Even the fortune cookie nailed it: “Keep being awesome.” And I was like, “You too, cookie. You too.”

Whoever is back there cooking—Auntie? Uncle? A culinary deity?—y’all deserve a standing ovation and an honorary spot on the Food Hall of Fame.

The food was average. My general concern was the passive aggressive attitude. She purposely ignored me and had continued conversations with others while I stood there. Arriving home with egg rolls that were drenched in oil and leaking through the bag. I noticed how attentive she was with others who came into the restaurant. I have the feeling that she just didn't want my type to return So I won't. Not angry will just find another location who values customers of all types.

I ordered delivery. I can 100% confirm that this restaurant gave me food poisoning. It was 4 days of the worst digestive ailments and I eventually had to go to the hospital. The only other food item that I had ingested that day was a granola bar. I ordered sweet and sour chicken, rice, chicken fried rice, crab ragoons, and hot and sour soup. The chicken was chewy and seemed old. The hot and sour soup was very watery and didnt have much tofu or mushrooms in it. I'm not sure which part of the order gave me food poisoning. I wouldn't eat here, unless you want to hug a toilet...
