Tequila Jalisco Mexican Grill - Great Neck — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I am only rating the food as I ordered take out. The lady at the front desk was SO sweet and accommodating, despite my tiny order. I ordered two chiles relleno and the total came to roughly $10.00. It came with a bag of chips, a cup of salsa, and a cup of a white dip. Iw as offered the combo with rice and beans but didn't want it.

The food was amazing. The flavor immediately burst. The poblano's were fresh and not canned so they still had a nice bite. They seeds and stems had been removed which was such a nice thing to not have to fight with the stem.The poblanos had also been roasted/blistered so they had a nice smokey undertone. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the poblano's had not been battered and deep fried like most. Sometimes the breaded and deep fried nature of chiles relleno's can make them very heavy. I LOVED that this was a little lighter. It did not lack flavor. The sauce on top was slightly sweet, spicy, and tangy. While my cheese inside the peppers was not 'gooey' it didn't distract from the experience. The sauce on top was so good I actually used chips to dip into it afterward. The ratio of cheese to sauce was about even.

The chips themselves were nothing spectacular. Your basic corn chips, on the slightly thick side. The salsa was fresh and you could notice in the bright taste that it had. The white sauce was also very tasty and had fresh herbs sprinkled into it that combated the heaviness. Though it did have a little more heat than the salsa.

All in all - a great experience. Next time i will have to go in and sit down to...

First time and I really enjoyed and most certainly would recommend. This is their second location in VB and an obvious flagship. It's very spacious and beautiful! They opened around 25 days ago.

Parking is plentiful and around the building. It's a bit odd accessing, but no biggie. No debris in the lot.

A hostess seated my wife and I on a weekend afternoon. It was slow. Menus provided. The dining room is huge! Service was immediate and friendly. Chips with salsa and white sauce was put out and excellent! No music was overhead. There is a stage for live musicians.

Two top shelf 24 oz margaritas on the rocks were ordered. Upon return of our delicious drinks main orders were put in. I had the Buritto Jalisco with chicken.

Food hit the table in around 20-25 minutes. The dish was hot and fresh and I loved it! Portion size was great, but the price point pushed in my opinion. My wife also enjoyed her dish which was a Buritto as well. The margaritas washed down some really great Mexican. Our waiter did check in.

When wrapping up we asked for a desert menu, but I guess he forgot. The bill was processed with no issue. We also utilized the restrooms which were spacious and clean.

I recently ordered take out for dinner, but this place really impressed me from the start. The lady up front took my "to go" order, she was pleasant to work with and made sure the order was complete. I ordered 2 tacos (Taco De Carne Asada, and Taco De Birria), a side of black beans and chips & salsa. I waited for the order, it took maybe 15 min and the lobby was comfortable. My drive home was about 15 min. I placed my meal on a plate and from the first bite of the Birria taco I was amazed - for a second I thought I was back in LA. Excellent flavor in everything I ordered, even after the drive. The chips were crispy, the salsa was delicious. Next time I go to the Tequila Jalisco Mexican Grill I will eat there to get an even better experience. My order was less than $15, the quality of the food blew away any of the Mexican fast food establishments in the area! I highly recommend...
