The location in Strawbridge market in Virginia Beach is terrible. This is the second time. Not going back. A few months ago, I walked in and waited a long time (no body said anything), finally the guy came out and told me it will be 2hrs waiting. I left.
Today, i walked in again, the new guys said I'm new here I have no idea whatever and she told me to take your order. The elder lady took a ling time to take my order and it wasn’t exactly what I asked but my goodness I just want to be done ( someone was waiting behind me). She asked me to tip her $5.
This is why I prefer Dominos pizza even Chanello’s is much closer and more convenient. Staff at Dominos especially the one in General booth, they are always friendly, take order quickly. No attitude never ask for tip.
Taking an order at a food service is the employee work’s responsibility.
On the website it’s clearly says that the discount and it’s be ordered both online or in store. The staff couldn’t apply it for me and asked for $5 tip.
I came back to pick up the pizza and she said she sent the new staff home. Wow! Having new employees with no training and fire them when they make mistake is a sign of poor management.
Today is June 13 2025 now is 7:40 pm.
The tip and poor service are the ones preventing people from coming to the service.
It doesnt matter how good is the food, when service this poor, customers likely to turn away.

The customer ordering area was dirty, coupons on display were expired (as if 9/1/24) & OMG..... a roach smashed on the floor. I didn't see the roach until on my way out! Ekkk! I was told that their oven was recently fixed and food may be a little burned on the edges by the guy working today 10/8/24 around 12:30pm. My pizza was OK. It just looked sloppy. Maybe because there is only 1 person working by themselves during lunch. Don't get me started on the cookie dessert I ordered, half was burnt, and the other half tasted off. It was rushed and couldn't cook evenly due to the batter not spreading evenly. This location should have been closed until the oven is re-fixed or replaced altogether. The guy working was super chatty talking about how he did not want his death to be, ex-wife vs. current wife, his drunk family going to Bush Gardens, etc. I should've just gone to Pizza Hut. This will be my last time visiting. I never received a receipt even after asking. I was told to come back if I didn't like the cookie to get another one made.....ummmm you should have gave me one after you made it. It looked like crap. Read moreWe have had several issues with this specific Chanello’s Pizza with bad customer service and pizza not being ready for pickup. Mainly bad customer service and the pizza is never ready, except to add 30 minutes regardless of how soon you place your order. However, we overlook some of this issues considering we love their pizza. Our last experience was terrible! My husband was in line waiting for pickup when he got a notification our order was cancelled. This was after another woman in line complained she had placed her order this morning and it still wasn’t ready so she had just cancelled her order because they hadn’t started making it yet. My husband lets the cashier know that his order was just cancelled and not by us (they cancelled the wrong order). Harmless, easy fix right? Nope!! He received no apology for the mix up, instead the woman instructed him (rudely & and taking her frustrations out on my husband) to reorder online and he would just have to wait because they were busy.
