Gilly's Creamery — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Great tasting ice cream, unfortunately the young lady who said she manages the place IS RUDE!!!!! My daughter purchased the coffee ice cream and even tasted it to make sure she liked it. When we went outside after paying she noticed some cookie in the ice cream and she could not eat it because it wasn’t a good mix to her. I said let’s go back and see if we can just replace it being that we had no idea vanilla wafers were in the batch. When I told the “manager” who looked all of 15, she states I told you that there was wafers in the ice cream and I said you didn’t! This went on for 5 minutes of something that was a misunderstanding. She proceeds to tell me to buy another scoop bc she will not replace it because she told me there was other stuff in the batch and kept interrupting me saying “have a good day maam!” Let me be clear, it’s not that I could not buy another ice cream it’s the girls attitude she had with me, THE CUSTOMER! Not to mention, it was a scoop not 3/4 scoops or a milkshake. I have been in the food industry in my past and if I ever spoke to a customer the way she did, I would of been fired! Unfortunately, the customer is ALWAYS right and I know first hand that it sucks but that is the sucky part of working in the customer service industry! If I was her I would of kindly stated, “ this sounds like a misunderstanding and I will go ahead and replace her scoop with another, sorry she didn’t like it” and there you go, CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS FINEST!!! I am so infuriated that a teeny bopper spoke to me the way she did, I will be pursuing further action. Thank god my son recorded the whole situation because you never know these days and to the owners of this business, someone needs to get in there and...

This review is long overdue. Out of all the ice cream shops, both chains and local in different cities, that I have been to, Gilly's hands down has the best tasting ice cream ever. It stands out as tasting fresh and using the best quality milk and cream.

I don't even like butter pecan in general, but when I go to Gilly's, i choose it over my usual favorites like chocolate or mint. It doesn't make any sense...

My husband doesn't crave sweets like most humans, but he wants Gilly's every so often. One day we went on his request and they had already closed... and he didn't even want to go anywhere else for icecream as an alternative! We just went back home!

Also, after introducing my mother to Gilly's, about 8 months later she told me the doctor's news that she was pre-diabetic, and confessed that she had been stopping at Gilly's by herself almost every day on her way home from work since I had brought her there! 😂 They are that good.

You're killing us, Gilly's. Please...

The icecream was good but the service was quite ridiculous and impatient. Online it stated they closed at 7pm. We showed up at 5:35pm and then saw sign by the door says they close at 6:00pm. So we go in and get something quickly to eat outside (25 minutes before close). When we first walked in the two girls were irritated we came in and she kept mopping and wouldn’t move out the way. She about hit us several times with the mop bucket while ordering. Kept mopping all around us and then gets upset when we had to walk thru it. With no wet floor sign out and I’m holding a baby we were lucky to not slip but mostly felt extremely unwelcome. Such a shame because it was some of the best icecream we’ve had in a while, reasonable price too.. but Staff definitely needs some better training on customer service,...
