My last review of Gino's was not the best review either, and it saddens me after much overnight thought to write another not good review. Even after a bad experience we've continued to eat here at least once a month w/o incident minus the fact that their servers (at least the ones we've had except 1)do not have the speed/quality of service to call themselves servers they'd rather socialize with each other than check back on their customers. On to yesterday and the reason for this review. My server, the blonde server with longer braid (not the one in teen/twenties), got my drink. I was there before the rest of my party of what was supposed to be 3 ended up 2. As my dad arrived, she brought out the garlic knots and got his drink order... our menus were down within 10 minutes, but it was a good 20 before we were able to order my dad ordered the Gino's Stromboli and I my usual fettuccine Alfredo. They were mildly busy but not overly at this point. Our food came out quickly. My dad quite enjoyed his Stromboli but said it was just a tad crispy for his liking. I added some parmesan to my pasta and began to stir it looked different than it usually did, but I was like, maybe it's just me. I took pictures and sent it to my chef friend as I began to eat. My friend got back to me fairly quickly and told me to quit eating and send it back they had sent me curdled sauce, and it could potentially make me and others sick and should be trashed. At this point, I set my utensils down and waited and drank my drink as my dad continued to eat. My dad consumed all he could eat and all his drink and not once were we checked on by our server or any other worker who walked by which usually they work as a team any other time I been there I've been checked on by many not yesterday. When the server finally comes, she asks how we were. I told her not good and asked her what was wrong with my food. She said, "Does it not taste good." I said, "ma'am, I've never had it look like cottage cheese, what it wrong with it." She said, "Would you like me to have them put it back in the sauce pan." I said no, thank you. You are avoiding my question, and he's finished. we need a box this off the check and the check." I then went to the front to make the manager aware that they are serving curdled sauce so others don't chance getting sick. The manager tells me the sauce it made to order. I tell her exactly what my chef friend said about it was cooked too long on too high if a heat the manager argued with me before going to the owner and then repeating what she said. I told her it was already taken off my Bill and the only reason for my talking to her was to make sure no others may end up sick like I could end up sick because I started eating something potentially bad whether cooked to order or not it was bad and they needed to make sure it didn't happen again. She blew me off, so I told her if I ended up sick, it would end up in my review, and here we are. I have food poisoning because they...
Read moreI usually do not take time to review restaurants, but this one? Sorry but I have a responsibility to inform everyone. After waiting about 10 mins or more, the waiter showed up and just passing by while we were trying to say what we needed, he just avoided us! I had a subway sub and took it in there to eat it with while my friend was waiting for his food and a lady told me "sir, you cannot eat that subway in here. So I ordered a slice of pizza and it was salty. My friend's was terrible too. Me personally, do not plan to ever come back in here. Terrible food and it looks like they only care for military people. We didn't even know who was serving us at first, IT WAS LIKE WE WERE NOT EVEN THERE!!! So from 0 to 1, I will give them 0 because they deserve it. Also expensive $$ for the kind of food you get. There are better choices out there, like Angelo's Italian restaurant for example, a lot better food and more fair prices, good customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. At Gino's restaurant, people were staring at us, why? I have no idea. Definitely I do not recommend this place unless you like wasting your time. Stay away!𤮠I have joined many friends for lunch with my own food at other restaurants, thing that they have done themselves and have never been treated in such a manner like this. It is bad business to lose two customers, plus everybody in my circle over a darn sub. Very rude in deed. Go and eat happy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time ordering from this establishment and I have to admit it could have been better. Placing the order for a tad rude when I asked if they delivered on base at Dam Neck, but she was kind and helpful with my menu questions. I liked what I saw on display in the photo section though I didn't see any square pizzas listed there so when I got mine it was quite a surprise. I believe this is a feature of the sicilian style pizza Gino's serves. The pizza was good but it wasn't great for the price and I found the 'depth' of this deep dish lacking with more than half of it being bread/crust. I may be a bit biased with expectations akin to Lu' Minaltis deep dish in Chicago, IL but I don't think I'd get a sicilian again. I also got some wings which were pretty good and fairly priced, not soft and fatty nor chewy and unpleasant, a good medium between and good amount of meat on them.
Alas, it's the minor things such as convenience that stops me from returning to this store. Plates and napkins was written on my ticket I signed on delivery at the front gate and were forgotten as well as a call from the driver upon leaving the store to let me know he was enroute so I could meet him at the gate. But it's mostly the price/quality and the fact that the drivers cannot get on base for deliveries at all that drives me to a competitor in the future for...
