Adele Diamond — Local services in Virginia Beach

My father had recently passed away earlier this month and I was in the process of donating and selling some of his items I wouldn't have any use for. Of those items was a replacement diamond engagement and wedding band he purchased for my also deceased mother some years back. I didn't know the first thing about selling diamonds and tried several other "popular" jewelers in the Virginia Beach area, and I have to say hands down I had the best experience at Adele!! Not only did they offer the best price hands down for the set. They took the time to tell me about the class of the diamond and even showed me the breakdown of how they came to the price. I'm highlighting this portion specifically, because none of the other again "popular" jewelers in the Virginia Beach area didn't even appraised it based on the class or color of diamond just the size, (it was a .50 diamond) which is technically apart of the appraisal process of a diamond. I also already knew the classification of the diamond before I even went searching for prices, so Adele's level of integrity was highly respected by me. Adele Diamond has a very welcoming and professional staff. Everyone greeted me with smiles even if they weren't helping me and the store layout looks incredible inside! A gentlemen also set down with me, while the paperwork was getting all finished up just to ask me about my experience as he was cleaning a customers ring. He was so humble and easy to talk to that I would've never even guessed he was the store's owner. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was my first time ever using them, didn't even know about them beforehand. I went there to get an old, tarnished silver ring, that I bought in India, resized. Upon pickup, the jeweler had not only resized it but also polished it - completely removing the tarnish and century of wear and tear on the ring. No one contacted me asking if I wanted that service done to the ring. I get that he was doing it with good intentions but NOTHING besides what was explicitly asked for by the client/customer should be done. ANYTHING extra should be asked about instead of just assuming someone wants something else done - it's their property, not yours. On top of that, when I originally went to get it resized, we used another ring of mine to gauge the resizing as I didn't know my ring size. I forgot my ring on the counter during the conversation and they lost it. They somehow LOST my other ring, which was a gift to me in college.

Granted, I didn't specify I didn't want my ring to be polished. Granted, I should have remembered my other ring when I left. However, I work in hospitality too and this just shows me absolute carelessness with other people's property on their part. They should have asked me about the polishing being done and should have left my other ring in the lost and found and apparently neither situation happened.

This was my first and only time using Adele Diamond. I will never use them again and, from my experience, would not recommend this business to anyone. This is absolutely...

Adele Diamond is my one and only jewelry store. The store itself is upscale without being pretentious. The selection is amazing. They are extremely “user friendly” with everything from sample engagement and wedding rings of non-precious materials out in the open, so that one could try on hundreds of settings without asking to see each one from the case, to online chat to get one’s questions answered in minutes, day or night. They will also design and create a custom piece for you. The staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. But more importantly in this day of frequent “rip offs”, the staff has integrity. They are honest, and stand behind their product. Rand is my “go to” guy for all things jewelry. He has designed earrings and a necklace for me, and we are in the process of creating a sapphire ring now. I trust him implicitly, and he has never steered me wrong. James is another extremely knowledgeable member of the staff with years of experience. He manages to educate one fully regarding the product and one’s options, while keeping it interesting and relevant. And finally, while all of these things are extremely important, without impressive pricing, I would not shop there.
