Huntley's Place is located in the Dam Neck Square Shopping Center, which is at the corner of Dam Neck Rd. and General Booth Blvd. Aldi is in this same shopping center. I had passed the place several times, but hadn't gone in until recently. There is ample parking in the shopping center as well. It's very easy to see the yellow sign from the road. My most recent visits here were on September 27, 2020 for breakfast and October 13, 2020 for lunch. The place may look small, but it packs a big punch. On both occasions, we were immediately greeted when we came in. We came in at good times for both visits as it wasn't overly busy at the time. The greetings coming in made me feel like we were coming home. The place gives me more like a diner type feel to it, especially when you see the ads on the tabletops. They are also taking great care when it comes to Covid as well. They have hand sanitizers for you and seating is limited. For breakfast, we got there shortly after they opened for the day. Our server for our breakfast visit was Kelly M. She was great throughout the process and gave us time to look over the menu. I know some ask from time to time if a place has Pepsi or Coke products. They have Pepsi products here. After a few moments, she came back over and were were ready to order at that time. I got the French Toast as the entrée. Sides are a la carte, so I got bacon and eggs that way. In the end, the pricing would be similar to other breakfast places that have it as a combo. Plus, doing it a la carte I got more bacon than expected too. My mom got the Eggs Benedict entrée with hash browns. About 8 to 10 minutes later, Kelly came back with our breakfast order to the table. The food looked great and it was hot. The French Toast, eggs, and bacon were great, and my mom loved the eggs benedict too. Overall, a great food and service experience. With having a great experience for breakfast, we decided to come back in a few weeks later to try their lunch menu. Once again we were immediately greeted and given menus. He asked us what we wanted to drink and got that taken care of quickly. Shortly after, we were ready to order. I decided to go with the Fried Shrimp Dinner with fries as the side, but also includes coleslaw. My mom got the Cheeseburger and chose the coleslaw as her side to go with it. Just like breakfast, the entrées came out about 8 to 10 minutes after ordering. The fried shrimp and fries were nice and hot and tasted great. The shrimp weren't overloaded with breading, which is the way I like it. My mom said the cheeseburger was good too and would get that again as well. Overall, both visits here were excellent. Food and service were amazing. This place makes you feel at home. There are plenty of breakfast and after breakfast options to choose from. Normally, breakfast is available until 3 pm, but since they close at 3 pm for now due to Covid, you can get breakfast all day here. If you are looking for a good place to get some food, you definitely need to check this place out.

I was excited to see a new breakfast and lunch restaurant open recently, and Huntley’ Place did not disappoint. The service was fast and friendly, albeit with a slight pensiveness I did not expect. I’ll tell you about that in a moment. First, the food was excellent, well priced, and plated with a home town feel that I appreciate. Large pint mason jars for serving beverages, simple but elegant white plates for the food, and great coffee cups for the excellent coffee they serve were all present here. The flatware didn’t live up to the presentation as it was mostly just stamped steel cutlery. Next, the environment was warm and inviting. I’ve eaten at this establishment when it was Famous Uncle Al’s and Cool Breeze. The current iteration of the space is well designed with chalk menu boards, corrugated steel panels on the walls and ceiling, and a beautiful brown wooden bar. The place really pops and I can tell that the owner and team care about their image. Finally, my server was... polite but seemingly annoyed that we arrived “late”. Maybe I’m reading into it. But that was my gut feeling. We arrived 45 minutes before closing and it seemed as we interrupted her. Her concern about the closing time was for naught because we were finished and paid by 3 pm according to my receipt. Now, she was never rude or overbearing, but more like passively upset with our presence. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt, and I will definitely eat here again. However, with a $46 meal and a $10 tip I would expect better next time. That last point aside, Huntley’s Place is competing directly with First watch and the Egg Bistro, both are within five minutes of Huntley’s Place. I believe that Huntley’s Place is on par with First Watch and beats out the VB Favorite, Egg Bistro. Give Huntley’s place a try, you will be impressed, just make sure to go earlier than 2:15 pm.

My husband and I went to the aquarium with our daughter today and stopped here for a bite afterwards. We were thoroughly impressed. The establishment is charming and cute. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming. The food is delicious and the drinks are strong. I read the reviews before we came here just to see where our expectations should be and I’ll just let you know off the bat that the people stating that the food is bland are wrong. In their opinion it may come off as “bland,” but the fish and chips actually has a delicious and subtle seasoning that allow the flavor of the fish to shine. If you’re not big into the taste of fish then I would not recommend this dish to you. But as a seafood lover, I would very impressed. The breading isn’t as thick as I would’ve liked but the flavor of the batter was delicious. 5/5 The aesthetic of Huntley’s reminds me much of the Hair of The Dog but better, in my opinion. The staff are so welcoming. Diane served us this afternoon and she was so sweet. The staff all engaged with our daughter and to be honest with you; it felt like coming home. I had the fancy parfait and truly the best parfait I’ve had locally, and I’m a foodie. The way it was served and the fresh fruit and honey - even the oats were so perfect. Truly makes my mouth water just thinking back to it. We will definitely be back and strongly encourage anyone looking for a delicious quick bite with a very southern welcome - come here. Thank you guys so much.
