I picked this place for my birthday as I love Japanese cuisine and was craving some sushi and ramen. Osaka certainly did not disappoint. We started with takoyaki (basically octopus hush puppies) which were amazing (see photo). A delicious bite to start the meal off right. I then had the spicy tonkatsu (with an extra soft boiled egg - bonus since my wife is not a fan of eggs). It was delicious as well. A very nice level of spice and the pork belly was perfect, crispy and tender. My wife had a bowl with curry flavor and she liked it but I think she was expecting more of a coconut milk sweetness and a higher spice level. She added some spicy chili and overall still liked it. We had a sushi roll but I'm blanking on which it was right now and it was perfect as well. A Sapporo beer was a nice complement to the full meal. I rounded everything out with some red bean mochi. Our server was also excellent, attentive and with good recommendations. All in all, a perfect birthday meal. I wish this place was here in Pittsburgh as I would visit them often for more delicious ramen and sushi.

The sauce for the karaage is almost the chic fil a sauce. But it's different. And it's still really good The BBQ chicken skewers are simply amazing. The ramen is lacking though. Ordered the tonkotsu ramen. It's a 6.7 out of 10. The noodles are bland. Nothing remotely special about the noodles. The broth is OK, it could use more umami flavor and more depth of flavor. The chashu is solid, but also lacks depth of flavor. It's mostly 'grilled flavor' if that makes sense. I find that most of the ramen places around here accel at the side dishes but their ramen is lacking. I'll be back to try some of the other ramen flavors and appetizers. During this trip I didn't try any of the sushi or rice dishes, so I'll have to try those too.

Osaka has been my go to for Ramen and Sushi, not the largest selection in the area but some of, if not the best I have had personally. I have had several of the ramen bowls, the yakatori chicken, and sushi rolls, the pink monkey is a personal favorite. The place has always been clean and well lit, and the staff I have interacted with from the servers to the sushi chefs have all been friendly, polite, and helpful. Rushes here have been a bit weird it depends a lot on the weather I think, also popular with the service members from nearby Dam Neck Annex.

Ordered some takeout from here and we were not disappointed. I ordered through Grubhub and they just missed getting the order up, so it wasn’t ready when I arrived-but mistakes happen and they were very kind and speedy to get my order out. The hostess even got me some water to run out to my cranky toddler. The restaurant is very well kept, run, and it is very obvious that they have great service because the waitress knew the names of most of the patrons coming in. The food was very good. The shumai is awesome and the rolls are awesome. I read some of the other reviews and I had a very similar experience. The one thing I want to say is that when you choose to order through a third party, the restaurant isn’t responsible for the fees that the third party (grub hub etc) tacks on for the convenience fee. If you want to avoid those fees, order takeout directly from the restaurant or eat in. From my experience, you’ll become part of the family in no time. Thanks for a...

Soft Opening @ Osaka Ramen & Sushi

Low prices. Great service. Okay food!

Ordered a green tea 🍵 however had it took back because of dirty cup. The rolls were 98% rice with little to no filling, rolls falling apart while trying to pick up. Very disappointed ☹️ Miso soup was cold above arrival. The teriyaki chicken had good flavor, however, side of rice was overcooked and dry & the bean sprout salad was in need of salt to boost the flavor. (No salt on table to add)

Place is good for the low prices, however, needs to pay attention to detail and add more flavor to the food. May come back for a second try.

Rolls: Super Duper (grilled salmon & eel w. avocado), Shrimp Tempura, & Volcano (White fish & crab deep fried)

Entree: Teriyaki bowl, House Salad with ginger dressing & Miso Soup

Drinks: Kirin Light & Nigori...
