DO NOT order the deep dish, it’s rather disgusting, with resting water, chewy or undercooked dough, too much cheese, undercooked, and difficult to eat. However, the rest of their food is usually good.
I’ve eaten here a few times, and the food is usually very good. Everything that I had tried was very good, until I had their deep dish pizza, which was very thoroughly disappointing. While I expected the wait after I ordered to be a while (about 40 minutes), which is not at all unusual for a deep dish pizza, it was not worth the product I received. I ordered a pizza with sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and jalapeños. The green peppers and onions were nearly raw, and the pepperoni was undercooked. while the other toppings were satisfactory, the biggest problem was the tomato sauce on top. When the plate was set down on the table, the first thing I noticed was that there was resting water on top. The sauce had WAY to much moisture before it was sent into the oven. As soon as I removed the first piece of the pie, this water began to pool at the bottom, and the crust became soggy within 2 minutes. While I usually enjoy plenty of cheese on my pizza, that’s pretty much all there was, and it wasn’t well cooked. The crust beneath this was uncooked, somewhat chewy, soggy, and flat. Because all the moisture was seeping into the dough/crust (which was quickly becoming as flexible as sandwich bread) it was rather difficult to eat. I didn’t even finish one slice before the rest of the pizza’s crust was soaked in water. If I hadn’t ordered an appetizer for myself, I would have left still hungry. I didn’t ask for a discount or my money back, I had read other reviews that said that they didn’t offer it. While the service was good, and they told me that the pizza was good, and that it usually wasn’t like that, the product I received was not AT ALL worth the money paid for it, or the time spent waiting.

Read moreIt's a 5 star compared to other Hampton Roads pizza places but a 4 star compared to real Chicago pizza like Lou Malnati's Pizzeria the home of the best pizza in Chicago. For takeout I ordered a medium size Chicago style deep dish pizza with sausage for $21.60 including tax. At home I added some Italian spices to flavor it up. The sausage was good but sparse with 2-3 pieces on each slice placed on the top with the sauce verses in the middle on top of the cheese where it should be if it's to be true to the Chicago style of deep dish pizza. For reference I included the following from Wikipedia on what a Chicago style pizza should be: The thick layer of toppings used in deep-dish pizza requires a longer baking time, which could burn cheese or other toppings if they were used as the top layer of the pizza. Because of this, the toppings are assembled "upside-down" from their usual order on a pizza. The crust is covered with cheese (generally sliced mozzarella), followed by various meat options such as pepperoni or sausage, the latter of which is sometimes in a solid patty-like layer. Other toppings such as onions, mushrooms and bell peppers are then also used. An uncooked sauce, typically made from crushed canned tomatoes, is added as the finishing layer; though sometimes, a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese is added for extra flavor.[5] It is typical that when ordered for carry-out or delivery, the pizza is uncut, as this prevents the oils from soaking into the crust, causing the pie to...
Read moreCame in for pizza with my family, after 40 minutes waiting for my pizza i asked how much longer and was told 5 mins, 15 mins later we asked again and the server/ cashier said that she was busy and it’s been ready for 5 minutes so she will go get it. it came out and was literally the thinnest pizza i’ve ever seen , thinner than a frozen pizza. the fact that we waited an hour for a pizza that thin and for it to be cold was crazy so we just told the server at this point we’d just like to take it off please we’ve been waiting this long for a pizza this thin and cold. the server went out back to tell her manager and the entire restaurant could hear her SWEARING in the kitchen. she came out to our table aggressive and instantly started YELLING at us and arguing with us, we told her it was cold and she said we were wrong so we told her to touch it and she refused. she then told us we were lying about the time we waited- when we literally had proof of order time on our phone & were playing pool an hour ago after ordering. she picked up the pizza almost hitting me in my face and continued yelling at us, then went over the the only other table to apologize. never seen a manager yelling and swearing and treating patrons so unprofessionally i’m honestly speechless. i had an infant at the table and she was screaming at us. she will probably come back with a rude response like the other bad reviews on this place which also says enough lol. take your...
