Lucita's Express — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

We stumbled upon this location even though it's in our normal daily commute route we hadn't noticed. The giant taco sign helped. We went in, and they are still stocking the location as they are still newly opened. We were pleasantly greeted as soon as we walked in. I was let down for pupuas. There was no chicken and the cheese tasted questionable. The cabbage had tomato sauce ?!?!!!! It couldn’t get any worse ! Isn’t supposed to be vinegar based not tomato and it wasn’t even cut right but in chunks…… The hot sauce provided was alright nothing crazy. The loaded nacho fries had nothing loaded. Just diced over seasoned chicken and chips. The pico de gallo was soggy. Gave half a cup of a 2oz of guac, cheese sauce and sour cream....

The pupusas here are amazing! They’re packed with meat and super flavorful — you can tell they don’t skimp on the fillings. Everything was cooked perfectly and the portions were just right. Totally worth every penny. I’ll definitely be coming back for more since I live one 2 miles from it. On a side note: this is mostly a take out place. There are no tables to dine in indoor.
