I order from Sals quite often, in fact I ordered twice this week. The food is always perfect but this week, not so much. I ordered a gyro platter and fries on the side but received chips instead. The young lady who took my order stated that It did not come with fries after I called and let her know about the error, she said that she didnt hear me ask for fries. I always ask for fries and was aware that it didnt come with fries. She said that she would make me some fries and deliver them which was great bc I just took some major prescription drugs. She called back a while later and informed me that I would have to pick them up myself, which I did against my better judgement bc of the meds. This can be verified by looking at my history of what I have ordered in the past. I was given no reason why it couldnt be delivered and I live right around the corner. I was a little irate but these things happen. I ordered a large white pizza and a sub last night for 2 people (ALOT) and warmed up the last piece 20 minutes ago an as I was about half through I found a small piece of glass in my mouth, fortunately for me I didnt bite down on it. Im not going to bother calling bc Im mad. DISAPPOINTED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. I have spent a lot of money since moving to this area and I have hd the pleasure of speaking to the co-owner when he has delivered here a couple of times.I am a diabetic with other health issues and God only knows what would have happened if I had bitten and swallowed that glass. I think Im going to take a long break from Sals, which is sad bc I really enjoyed your food. Good luck and hopefully you can take this as a learning experience bc it could ended up far worse for...

I just left this establishment after having the worst experience in customer service. I ordered an extra large pizza and mozzarella sticks over the phone when I came to pick it up as I typically do because I’ve been eating here for years, I tipped and was very polite to everybody in the establishment. When I got home and got ready to eat dinner including the mozzarella sticks I realized that there was no cheese in several of the mozzarella sticks, there were seven in the box total. When I called the establishment to ask if they could perhaps deliver me some because I live about five blocks away they didn’t even inquire about where I lived they just told me that they couldn’t because of staff, which was understandable. A young lady offered me 25% off of my next meal but I don’t know what I’m going to eat there again so I just asked for a refund. Upon doing so, I had to speak to the owner of the establishment Joe and he was very rude short tempered with me. He told me in order to get a refund I would have to bring the mozzarella sticks back he rushed me off the phone so I proceeded to go back to Sals Pizza and show him evidence that there was no cheese in my mozzarella sticks. The young lady at the front could not process the refund so he had to come out to the front and I explained to him my grievances and that I was disappointment with the service and how rude he was and that he didn’t apologize he looked at me and said “whatever ma’am” and proceeded to try to process the refund. As someone who’s been eating at this establishment since they were in high school I can say that I am deeply saddened at the decline of the customer service and the food quality I will never...

THE WORST - Sal's at 1917 S Independence Blvd, 7pm Sunday Sept 13, 2020 - Our family decided on a large calzone. 45 minutes later, what arrived was a $29 very burnt, shrunken version of the calzone we've ordered from here before. We've ordered from this Sal's 5 times in the last 2 years. One previous time, the calzone was also burnt, but we ate it anyways and spent the next day throwing up. Old dough shrinks when it's cooked and over cooking it masks the bad taste. This is apparently a way to save money not discarding old dough. The customers most likely get a stomach ache or vomit, but how many people actually follow through complaining about that or link it to the food? CUSTOMER SERVICE - Family doesn't want to get sick, so we called Sal's back about the burnt calzone. Asked to speak with manager and placed on hold for 7 minutes, and then I was told that the manager wasn't there. I explained that the calzone was burnt, then was placed on hold for 6 more minutes before I was told that "the cook said it was not burnt", and it was "supposed to be like that". I asked them to cook another one and I took the calzone back to Sal's. When I got there, they said they weren't cooking another one until they saw this one. I asked for a refund. Then three of the employees started grumbling to each other in Arabic to mask the content of their disagreement. I got a refund and then left at 9pm. Went to grocery store and bought oven bake pizzas. Should not have ordered from here and definitely...

Had some dinner delivered from Sal's last night while watching a PPV over at a friends house. The food was decent. Our order consisted of 2 pies, a Supreme and a Pepperoni. 2 orders of Wings, Hot and Medium and a side of Garlic Knots. The pizza dough was fresh, toppings for the most part were ok. I thought the pies could have cooked a little bit longer as the slices were very chewy. The sauce was generic canned sauce. Basically these pizzas are what I would refer to as a utility pie. It's not the best, certainly not the worst. The wings looked like they had sat to long. Taste was fine but the moisture from them being wrapped in foil had definitely taken it's toll and they were all kinda mushy instead of crisp. Disappointing. Last but not least were the Garlic Knots. They were on point and super good. They also came with a large cup of Marinara for dipping. Absolutely delicious. So like I said, a mixed bag. Again this was a carry out order, and the experience may be better if had dined in at the restaurant. Maybe we'll see in a future review.
