02JAN22 ~ For my first time here my four siblings & I enjoyed an excellent meal & time together as a family. The ambiance was perfect for us, classy, warm, and quite. The service, our waitress was 'Shae', was just right. Shae was genuinely friendly, articulate/well spoken, intelligent/fast on the uptake, professional, helpful, and came by just the right amount, not too much & not too little. Our food was nothing less than outstanding. Three of us commented on the wonderful aroma even before we had taken a bite. My Veal Parmesan was as good as any I have ever eaten. The price for our meals was extremely reasonable, especially considering that this a classier, finer Italian dining experience. I sum up with the best compliment I can give by saying that we will go back!

4/10/23 - Went to this place on Thursday evening. They have a large bar top area. There is additional seating behind the wine wall. The food was really good. The bread was nice and fluffy but lacked flavor but some butter helps with that. I got the Mediterranean pasta and asked for light sun dried tomatoes, it was super delicious. The plate makes the dish look small in my opinion but I was wrong about that. There was definitely a good portion in the bowl that I was able to take home. We also got a bottle of wine, which I am not sure which kind but it was pretty good. Haley was also super nice as our server. It wasn't too busy on Thursday night either. Everyone else with my table really liked their food too. I am excited to come back and try some more items.

Friends had told me the best place for fresh focaccia was in Virginia Beach at a place called Vino Italian bistro and they were right. Not only was that amazing but I wanted to get something off the menu. I asked for a chicken Parmesan sub, and they didn’t hesitate to make it for me and it was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a great place to have lunch, take advantage of some amazing lunch specials, if it’s a meeting or just an escape from the workday, I can’t say enough great things about Italian bistro in Virginia Beach. They have wine specials during the week as well so I will be back for dinner soon! If you are thinking Italian restaurants in VA Beach make sure that Vino Italian bistro is on your list!!

We came for dinner, we were a large party so we assumed it would take a little bit longer than usual to get our food. We tried to order as soon as we could because we noticed that our waitress was taking a very long time to get our drinks, and anytime we requested something it was taking her extremely long. The restaurant is very small and they do have two hostesses, which didn’t make sense to me because the hostesses could’ve been going around and assisting the waitresses but instead they just stood around doing nothing. It took a while to get our appetizers and salads, but then after that, we waited and waited and waited and waited some more. Finally, we complain to the waitress and asked her when we would get our food because we saw many parties surrounding us who had been seated after us, had received their food. That didn’t make sense to us that other parties were being served their entrées before we were since we were there first- in some cases an hour or more before they arrived at the restaurant. The waitress told us five more minutes, but then 20 minutes past so we asked to speak to the manager. She just gave us excuse after excuse and didn’t take any ownership of the problem. But that point we hadn’t seen our waitress for 25 minutes and we had a stack of dishes that had not been cleared from the table. The manager apologized and said she would check with the kitchen. She came back and said it shouldn’t be much longer. And then we waited some more. Finally, the small children in our party were getting restless as it had been almost two hours by this point and we decided we couldn’t stay any longer so we asked them to give us our bill and we’d be leaving. Then we got the bill for our drinks and appetizers and the manager apologized again, but did not comp us anything, which I’m sorry after everything we went through- waiting 2 hours without our meals- You would think that they would give us like our salad or some thing minimal for free. But NO, nothing for free and on top of that, they charged us an automatic tip. After everything we had been through you expect us to pay an automatic tip? I don’t think so. I will never come here again which is sad because me and my family used to come here all the time. But this was the worst service we had all ever had. So please do not go here and support them. The waitress, the hostesses, none of them know what they are doing and the manager was awful and didn’t know how to handle the...

We were hoping for and expecting way more than we received. Maybe it was just poor communication. We wanted the Pork Osso Buco but was told that they were out. So we ordered other menu items. The waitress returned and stated that they had some. We were super excited. So we changed our order and we ordered two Osso Buco's. Our order came and one person got the Osso Buco and I got the lasagna which was my original order. I guess she misunderstood. Not a problem. The lasagna was good. I tried the Pork Osso Buco and it was okay. Another member of our party of four ordered the Risotto Con Scampi. Something about it was just not right but we could not put our finger on it. It had absolutely no flavor so they just picked at it instead of sending it back because they thought it was just them. The waitress came over and noticed that they did not like the Risotto Con Scampi and asked if they wanted her to take it off the bill. He said yes. Since he had eaten very little of the tasteless dish, he ordered a tiramisu to go. A few moments later another server comes over and says sorry, the owner says if more than 50% of the dish was eaten then it can't be removed from the bill. The only problem is that he didn't eat 50% of the dish. We looked for pictures of the dish online and found that the main ingredient - the scampi - was missing along with half the shrimp (he only got 4). That explained the plain tasting Risotto and the no taste shrimp. The male server stated that to make up for the mishap (not getting any flavor or in this case scampi, is more than a mishap) that he would give that party their dessert for free. The waitress brought the bill and two desserts. We looked at the desserts and one was tiramisu and the other bread pudding. I advised the server that we did not order the bread pudding. She then says that is your free dessert for the party not liking their dish. So apparently you get what they want you to have even though you pay over $110 for four meals. The food is okay - you may even think it's great. But prepare yourself for a comedy show of errors and miscommunication. A dinner and a show - who would want anything more. It's close to our home but maybe we'll drive a little...

My experience at Vino left me so dissatisfied that I felt compelled to leave my first restaurant review. I would rate the overall experience a C-. I was starving and was excited for the bread basket until it came out. The bread wasn't warm or crusty, and tasted store bought. I thought butter would help, but it was this unsalted whipped butter that added very little flavor to the bread. We ordered two appetizers for the table. The fried gnocchi was...fine. Anything cheesy and fried with tomato sauce will satisfy a certain craving, but I still needed to add salt. The burrata came with crackers that one buys at trader joes. I love burrata and was excited to have some, but this cheese was not it. Really good burrata oozes, however the one I was served was rather chunky. Also, the tomatoes were...laking in color. Our entrees also left a lot to be desired. We ordered the penna alla vodka, chicken fettuccine alfredo, and tortellini carbonara. Everything was subpar. The meat was dry, everything was underseasoned, and the peas were far undercooked. The only good thing I consumed at the restaurant was my $8 old fashioned. The service was also not the best. I'm a server myself and try to give customers a good experience, but ours wasn't that engaged with us. I definitely don't need to have a full conversation with the staff, but we never even got a water refill. I was excited to try this place out because the reviews were so positive and the pictures looked appetizing, unfortunately the dining experience didn't match the expectations. I won't be returning...well maybe just for another cheap...
