This was my first time DoorDashing Five Guys and was surprised and disappointed when my delivery arrived. The paper bag was not folded down from the top and THEN have a sticker placed on it. Rather it was open wide on both sides and a sticker in the middle. I was easily able to put my hand down and touch the fries in the bottom of the bag. I called the Fairfield location and spoke to Mgr. Anthony. He was lukewarm in his reply to my concern. He basically said it was policy to do it that way stating it keeps the fries from becoming soggy. Well they’re the natural cut fries and are not crispy anyway. The fries were in a container with most in the bottom of the bag (which is their thing) and had two burgers on top. My response was I’d much rather have soggy fries than someone’s grubby paws, or worse, done to my food. He said I’m the first to complain about this. I said well not everyone would take the time to call and complain but would rather just not order from Five Guys...
Read moreThe food is good, however some of the male employees are absolutely obnoxious. If they perceive you as a male they have to do this "best friends at the bar" talking to you. I am just trying to order a simple cheeseburger and the guy at the register feels some need to call me "boss" 4 or 5 times repeatedly, when I do not respond with the same juvenile silliness, they don't pick up on that and just keep saying that dumb thing. The habit of calling random white people "boss" for no real reason is something which dates back to slavery days, when everyone in the field had to call the white overseer "boss". I do not know these people, and they do not know me personally that way. Basically the expected friendly atmosphere gets turned into this "we expect you to be a straight cisgendered masculine man the minute you walk into our store." The atmosphere there is more fitting to the 1950s than it is to the...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Five Guys. I've heard a lot about their burgers. I went with my friend. We split an order of fries and there were plenty for each of us. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard with a drink. The staff was good; we had our order in a timely manner. There were peanuts to eat while we waited but we did not take any peanuts. There is a wide variety of drinks to chose. As far as the best burger, not by a long shot. It was good, but not great. The store was clean, had sufficient seating, the staff was organized, professional, and attentive, I was surprised at the limited menu but like it, and the food portions are generous. I'm a retired Navy Senior Chief and I've had extensive burgers during my career and afterwards. There are many I would place above what I had at Five Guys. I'm not sure the cost is worth...
