Review: I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience at AJ Gators Sportsbar, particularly regarding the exorbitant prices they charge. Unfortunately, I must give a low rating due to the shockingly high prices that do not align with the quality of food and service provided.

Upon reviewing the menu, I was taken aback by the inflated prices for basic bar food and drinks. The cost of items was unjustifiably high, making it difficult to enjoy a casual meal without feeling like I was being taken advantage of. It's disheartening to see a sports bar charging such excessive amounts for what should be reasonably priced fare.

To make matters worse, the quality of the food did not justify the exorbitant prices. The dishes I ordered were lackluster and unimpressive, lacking in flavor and creativity. It felt like I was paying a premium for subpar meals that I could have easily obtained elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.

The service at AJ Gators Sportsbar was equally disappointing. The staff appeared disinterested and inattentive, providing minimal assistance and failing to create a welcoming atmosphere. It seemed as though the emphasis was on turning tables quickly rather than ensuring customer satisfaction.

In addition to the inflated prices and underwhelming food, the overall cleanliness of the establishment left much to be desired. I am writing to formally express my disappointment and dissatisfaction with my recent dining experience at your establishment on 10/1/2024].

After spending approximately three hours running errands, I decided to stop by your restaurant for a meal. I placed an order for buffalo honey BBQ wings (extra crispy) with fries. After a reasonable wait, I received my food and left the premises without issue. However, as I was driving home and passed by Kempsville Middle School, I decided to eat a wing. To my surprise and disappointment, the wings were improperly prepared and appeared to be undone . They were not cooked as I had ordered (extra crispy) and were far below the quality I expected.

Disturbed by this, I immediately returned to your restaurant and explained the situation to the bar server who originally took my order. I requested a refund due to the unsatisfactory nature of my meal. To my astonishment, I was informed that your restaurant has a no-refund policy and only offers credits. I found this to be incredibly disconcerting, especially considering that there was no guarantee I would return to the restaurant to use such a credit.

In an effort to resolve the issue, I reluctantly accepted a replacement order of a plain cheeseburger and fries. While I appreciate the complimentary drink that was offered as compensation for my inconvenience, the overall handling of the situation was unacceptable.

As a loyal customer who frequently dines at establishments like yours, I believe it is crucial to prioritize customer satisfaction and resolve such issues fairly. Denying refunds and limiting compensation to credits is an unreasonable policy, particularly in cases where the customer is unlikely to return. I would strongly encourage you to reconsider this policy for the sake of customer retention and the reputation of your business.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously, and I would appreciate a more satisfactory resolution to this matter.

Went to AJ Gators on a Saturday night to meet up with some friends. We sat out on the patio. There was a live band playing who sounded pretty good. There was a class reunion going on too so it was pretty packed. We were still able to find seats in the corner which was more than fine with us. The service was slow which was to be expected. I ordered a fuzzy naval (hardly no alcohol) and my boyfriend ordered a beer which came fairly quickly. We also ordered potato skins for the app which we specifically asked to please bring BEFORE our entrees! I ordered the french dip sliders off the app menu for my meal and my boyfriend ordered the BBQ platter with potato salad and onion rings and two waters.

We waited and waited at least 40 minutes. We were talking and having fun so the time passed by fast but at one point I looked at my watch and thought "where's our food!?"

Our plates come out. No silverware, no napkins, no water, no ketchup NEVER GOT OUR POTATO SKINS!!! REALLY!? My food was stone cold and bland. His BBQ was like something that came out of a container from Food Lion. Nothing special at all. We didn't complain. We didn't really expect much from a sports bar with a very limited menu.

Our server was excellent! Very nice and apologetic. I didn't blame her because she was busting her butt the best she could. Poor thing was slammed! I just had her take the app off the bill and she was still tipped very well.

Now the kicker: we were there for 2 hours. In that time we saw three HUGE water bugs and I had a small roach crawl on my shoulder. I'm cold natured so I had a sweater hanging on my chair. The roach crawled up my sweater and onto my left shoulder. I guess I don't need to explain how grossed out and pissed I was. The fact that my friends had to keep killing roaches where we were sitting is both unacceptable and disgusting!!! Time to call...
