YamaChen's Sushi — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

My fiancée and I went to eat at Yama Chen after ordering delivery from them a few times. The quality of the sushi has always been nothing short of excellent, and each piece has been beautifully crafted to perfection. Even the utensils were contained cutely branded package. How they achieved this aesthetic is nothing short of miraculous, as delivery food tends to look a little on the sloppy side. It’s this attention to detail that sets Yama Chen apart from any other restaurant we get delivery from.

When we went there to eat in person, we ordered one of the sushi boats. Again, the food was nothing short of delicious and beautiful, and the service was amazing. We were immediately greeted as we came in the door and seated quickly. The waitress was attentive, polite, and helpful. We were both impressed by how hardworking the sushi chefs looked to us. The inside of the restaurant has a very cute and welcoming aesthetic. Our meal was extremely enjoyable and made for a wonderful date.

I have been going to YamaChens Sushi for a while now, it's always a date Night. We love the calm atmosphere here compared to larger sushi chains like Sushi King. There is no loud music, you occasionally hear the staff speaking to eachother very softly but overall you are here for the silence. It makes it very intimate for a date or even a party of 4 people. We usually order the Sushi boat which comes with 4 rolls or 3 rolls and a line of sashimi, and 2 salads with 1 appetizer. When dining in and doing larger orders, the chef can bring you complimentary treats like spring rolls or at the end of the meal, cheese cake bites.

The meal starts with a free appetizer of fresh cold edamame.

The silverware is wrapped in it's own container for you, chopsticks, a napkin with the Yamachens logo, 2 tooth picks.

They serve normal Americanized Sushi but also unique ones of cooked beef and chicken for those not interested in fish.

There is also a hot kitchen section which includes things like pork katsudon.

Disclaimer: By the time I took these pictures, I was already stuffing my face lol I remembered to take pictures mid-chew! Now to the review! First off, I have to just say that this restaurant is truly beautiful! I was amazed at the decor walking in! I proceeded to the counter to place my order for takeout and was immediately greeted by an employee there who was very sweet. Great customer service! She took my order and let me know of the wait time. I ordered the Golden shrimp sushi roll with the vegetable filled noodles. When my order was ready, she brought it out to me and provided me with a cheesecake on the house!! That was so sweet! The food was absolutely amazing! I've had sushi before but this definitely took the#1 place! The noodles were great as well and wasn't salty like others I've tried elsewhere!
